USAA offers it to "youthful operators" who are fulltime students (12hrs. or more) @ an accredited college making a B+ average.

Insurance companies do not pull credit.

Based on your automobile assets alone I would encourage you to talk to your agent about a $1million or even $2million Personal Liability Umbrella Policy. This protects you and other immediate family members when your underlying auto insurance policy ($250,000/$500,000) isn't enoughfor a covered claim AS WELL as in instances involving liability EVERYWHERE else...i.e. home, vacation, bar?, ect.

Typically cost is around $150/yr!

I was not a full time student so that discount would not have applied to me.

Dead wrong! The agent/underwriters don't SEE your actual credit report or score. Its called a soft hit much like a pre-approved credit card. Doesn't affect your score but is an INQUIRY. Your score IS a factor in determining company XYZ's INSURANCE score for you which in the end determines your individual rate (risk level!).

I'm an independant insurance agent (prior State Farm/USAA rep.).

If I where eligible I would go to USAA immediately based on their customer service/low rate history.

My current carrier of choice for myself and clients is Progressive Auto Insurance.

I went from 151 a couple of months before my 25th to 118. Not to sure if it had anything to do with me hitting 25, but the thought of extra beer money put a smile on my face

Pay about $100/mo for two cars at 100/300k coverage with full protection through Amica - about 40-60% less than every other company that gave me a quote.

Is that rate for both cars combined? If its for both then I don't see whats high about it.

All in all you might want to look at cheap full coverage insurance and see if you can find something better than what you have.

Right at $2K a year for 3 cars with State Farm, I am 27. I have two separate policies, full coverage on the Vette and truck. Trans Am just has liability and theft. I have shopped around and my rates seem to be average for what I was quoted. Can't wait till I buy a house and get a nice drop in rates.

Full Coverage, 100/300/100 coverages.

08 Sierra
07 Corvette

$900 or so both those cars every 6 months, I don't really pay attention, just write a check and mail it.

93 Trans Am Liability + theft

Maybe a $100 every 6 months, it isn't much so I don't pay much attention to it either.

Look, comparing your rates with other people is going to get you nowhere; there are too many variables involved. If you’re not happy with your rates then keep looking for auto insurance quotes online from reputable companies until you find one that works for you. For example, I’ve been getting great coverage and cheap rates from The Hartford for years but there’s no guarantee they’ll give you the same deal.

I pay $45 a month on my TA and $33 a month on my Sentra, both liability only and I am 23, through State Farm. I hadn't had a wreck in years, and got my sentra and wrecked it before I put insurance on it. Then got insurance on it, and the next month my rates dropped by almost $15 a month. I don't know how that worked out, but I'm fine with it.

one factor you all are forgetting, credit score and the ability to pay because of a good score!!!!
