Default Duramax Daily Driver Dyno results

First my '09 GMC Duramax with lift and 35's
Picked up over 160rwhp and 140rwtq with still safe tune
So far I am averaging about 18mpg, up from about 12mpg

Next is my dad's '09 Dodge Cummins with lift and 35's
It picked up almost 60rwhp and 150rwtq with tuner on stage 1
So far fuel mileage is close to 20mpg, up from about 12mpg

Both were done at Relentless Diesel in Willis and we highly recommend them to anyone looking for more power and better fuel mileage

So far mostly hwy but some spirited driving as well. It would probably do better without the lift and tires but they are worth it.

Gotta love diesels, couldn't afford a good one, but I am averaging around 19 mpg on the 4.8 silverado I picked up recently, it is nice compared to the 16ish I was getting with the camaro, and filling up with 87 vs 93 at that!

Great results!

Y'all should have dyno'd the Cummins on the 120hp or 175hp setting at least once. Those transmissions can easily take a 4th gear pull on the dyno on those settings.

20mpg in a heavy lifted/big tired lwb truck is great.

I've debated picking up a diesel truck, but I've always wondered if the mpg tuning was true or not....I don't want a 12mpg daily driver, but 20mpg is damn near as good as I am getting with my Infiniti sedan and I'd much rather have a truck than a car.

I pulled off my tuner on my '06 Ram to get a warranty PCM reflash. Truck went from the normal 20 mpg, down to 17 mpg. I drove it around like that for about a month, then put the tuner back on. 20 mpg again. Diesels definitely can make more power and increase mpg at the same time. Get a pre-07 model, without the DPF crap they have nowadays. It will be cheaper to mod.

Easy fix with all your dough! They used to do RC's old diesel before the vette build. They can get rid of all the dpf, egr and def stuff.

I would love to do something to my 6.7 but am not willing to risk my warranty just yet.

Relentless is very very good! Like Randy said, they did all of RC's work back in the day. I dynoed my truck there a couple weeks ago and it did 546/1042. Chris is a great guy and very helpful!

Technically, you are correct. A 6.7 Cummins will cost about $60 more to do the basic mods than a 5.9. A 6.7 will require an EGR blockoff plate ($60). The exhaust, CAIs and tuners are the same price for the 6.7 and 5.9.

If you go in for warranty work, the 6.7 is a little bit more of a pita to put back to stock. That DPF system is heavy! With that said, I did it by myself in my driveway in a couple of hours.

The only dough I have Randy is the cookie dough my wife bought for all the holiday cookies she makes.

I really want to mess with it but damn I just need to leave something alone. I plan on buying something new in a few years so I am not sure it would be wise on my part. I have had it 1 year and have a whole wooping 4500 miles on it.

My wife saw you pulling the vette last Friday and called me about it. Said it was a pretty ride.
