79 trans am question
everything is original, they only thing missing is the right rear part of the spoiler and they lost the title. there is no rust on it at all!
also this is not a retardedpenguin thread im 100% serious.
Is that a required disclaimer now?
My first two camaros were brownish/goldish. A '78 Z28 and a '79 Berlinetta. I actually saw one today that looked just like the '78 which I owned between ~'87-'90. As far as price goes...???
4 speed? WS6? T-Tops? Those are the collector cars.
Otherwise, they'll fetch $8-10K in decent shape.
You can get the spoiler piece from Year One.
Stored in a barn? I'd bet there are a few electrical gremlins due to mice using it for a condo.
Double the paper gaskets under the carb. The mating surfaces didn't have very tight tolerences.
Rust was most commonly found at the point of the rear glass on either side.
Doors are stupid heavy. Consequently, the hinge pins wear out really fast causing the door not close easily.
Perfect paint (if not redone) supports the 40miles. If the odometer rolled the paint and interior would show the wear. Not having the title makes me wonder if it was stolen way back when. He better check the vin for that before buying. I have a friend that got a clean 3rd gen from a barn. The guy that had it died akd the family just parked it IIRC. Fortunatley only rodent action was a nest under the hood.

Is it solar gold or the root beer color? Solar gold is much more desirable.
All 403's in 79 were autos. If it is solar gold the T tops should have a gold tint (this may have been '80 only).
My 79 10th anniversary trans am has original paint on the hood and it is not that shiny. Mine has 25k on the clock and was stored outside for a few years at one point.
Look at plug wires- should say GM and/or Packard. Look at fan belts- should say GM. Should have single cat exhaust and cross flow muffler at back
