Say bye bye to ethanol, congress ended the corn ethanol subsidy

Corn based fuel is pretty much dead. If youre thinking about switching to E85 for the performance gains, I'd think again because it won't be worth the cost. E85 per gallon will probably increase by at least 50 cents. The only reason why ethanol was so cheap was because of the subsidy. The E85 infrastructure is dismal and not growing. I bet Kroger and other companies that invested in building an E85 infrastructure will pull the plug on their failed invested. This was a huge victory for the auto manufactures as well. They were constantly complaining about the harmful affects of ethanol to engines. Corn based ethanol will go down in history as another failed alternative to petroleum.
Congress finally did something right. Since 1980, the ethanol subsidy cost the American taxpayers 45 billion dollars. It was a gigantic waste of money that only benefited the agriculture industry that was owned by corrupt Midwest politicians. Corn ethanol is directly related to the rising costs of food and most importantly meat. Turning a very important food crop that feeds livestock and humans into a fuel to compete with the petroleum industry is unethical. Food should be cheaper than energy. And people say that petroleum industry is evil...
Edit: I suck at grammer....

^ word man. And honestly, livestock aren't supposed to be eating corn either. It causes some pretty nasty bacteria to grow (in there intestines I believe). I'm all for supporting farmers, but this hard on for corn has got to stop.

That's just the start of the farming issues in the US

well im built for e85 and it would suck to not be able purchase at local stations cause it will still be produced just like other fuels just not optainable at the pump not as for cost that might sky rocket like race fuels have im def. hoping not but we know how all those markets work higher prices for there record breaking quarters every year just like petroleum

Good. Now maybe farmers will start growing more of the other grains again. My bro-in-law works at a grain company. He has been saying it was getting harder to get wheat because farmers were growing more corn because it is more lucrative thanks to the subsidies.

Yup the cows are not supposed to eat this and peeps are dying because of the E. coli O157. It's about time the **** come to an end.

I would love to end this Ethanol crap too but I'll believe it when I see it. I think Ethanol as the additive that replaced MTBE is here to stay. Unless they can find another additive to take it's place. If not, it is staying with out without the hand out.

Does anyone know anything about the Brazilian E85 that was mentioned at the beginning of the article?
They lifted a tariff so hopefully e85 will come from Brazil now, and keep the same price.

Realistically, what do you all see happening? Will the price go up or down (considering the tariff on Brazilian s85 was taken off)? Do you all think some stations that offer e85 will stop offering it?
