I have found that for reverse if you slip it in another gear first and then reverse it helps.

I agree it does sound like a slave and I am having the same issues on my 05 V.

It's about time for the old LS7 upgrade. Let me know if you need some help chagning it out.

I was saying it is aout time for ME to do the LS& upgrade, which is clutch, flywheel, slave cylinder and then a remote bleed line.

It might be time for you too.

It is about $700 + labor.

BTW, check your clutch fluid.

Sounds more like ur keys in trans are shot, if ur reverse solenoid was out there is no way it would even grind

It more than likely was something to do with the clutch when it comes to reverse. First and reverse are usually the tell tell signs that it is something with the clutch. If you dont have the money yet, try flushing the fluid and see if that helps. There is plenty of howtos that show you what to do. Now the grinding could be a couple things. Could also be the clutch. Pressure plate might be being lazy or it could be an internal issue with the trans. To help get it around now. Try pushing the clutch pedal a couple times and try to go into reverse. Also you can push the clutch pedal in and hold it in and then go third to reverse. It slows the internals down and makes it easier to go into gear.
