Default Air field drags in Houston area

Saw it below, sounds like a good idea, never attended but would take part in one in Htown area. Not the Texas mile, but side by side racing street style racing. Not knocking the Texas mile but racing at the tracks and on the street has took big hits for different reasons; grudgeracing, index racing, bracket racing, ect. Something different may be the answer for the little guys, grassroots is where racing started.

It takes a lot more than you might think to do this. Deep pockets are only the start.

my dad has a lot of connections at la porte municipal airport, he and i could start making phone calls. if we have a backing i could see this actually happening, i know the guys at the airport could use the money an event like this could bring.

edit: he also used to be very good friends with a lot of higher ranking cops and city officials. idk if thats still true or not but it's worth a shot.

I would be very surprised if this became fact. Best of luck in getting it done. Who would be the coordinating faction?

Same here!! The only problem with that is its a municipal airport and there is no tower, I mean yes it is possible for them to put a NOTAM out to pilots that the airfield would be **** down for however many hours but VFR pilots (Almost every person who flys in and out of La Porte municipal) are not required to check them

yeah i'm thinking la porte is a no go. my pops told me almost that exact same thing. and on top of that, the airport manager that he's known for like 20+ years retired...
