Antique plate bullshit
Alright so I've been in and out of court three times and now I have to go to ******* trial for my antique plates. What do I have to show the courts to get this **** dropped? Apparently no one knows the ******* law on these things.
I have a ticket for no registration and wrong registration.
**** antique plates, fixing that blinker and horn for standard registration and inspection doesn't seem so bad now.

What is there to discuss? Antique plates are for very limited usage to go to repair facilities and car shows. People use them all the time for other **** but so do people with Farm tags on their brand new *** trucks.

I know the rules changed recently on those plates. I have a couple buddies with a 66 Scout and a 31 Ford rat rod that are trying to figuire out what exactly they can do. They get different answers everytime they call. Good Luck

Drove with them on my 71 cuda, and never had a problem.. BUT cops are not dumb. You had to sign that paper when you got them stating that you will only use them for car shows and special events. Thats why they are like 60 bucks for 4 years or so..

What did they pop you for.
On all of our old cars with antique plates you only have get a new registration sticker every 4 years.
You are not required to have inspection sticker.
They are registered to the VIN of the vehicle like any other LP
There are also year of manufacture plates. meaning if your car is a 1935 for instance you can buy texas 1935 plates and they are assigned to the stated VIN of your car so they are your plates and you do not have to replace them. BUT they can not be any newer or older than the year of the vehicle.

Sucks to hear you are having such a hard time. But honestly, just fix the damn horn and blinkers and be done with it. Those antique deals are way too much hassle if you like to drive your ****.

Yeah I get it but it's still a major freaking pain in the ***. Every single time I have ever been pulled over for no front plate on my vehicle, it's always been by DPS. The ironic thing is, most of them disregard the traffic codes and safety regulations like the rest of us. Hell I got a customer who comes in my registration office who says he never gets tickets because he's a trooper and his **** is always atleast a month expired when he gets around to renewing it.

He's just another tech D bag.
Nah it was a Pearland cop, I put the new engine in so I was getting on it and got popped for 6 over. Pearland cops are dicks, I racked up like 6 or 7 tickets off this one stop, all dismissed except for these two. It was off parkway by the gym, he came and found me inside the gym as he had to drive a few miles down the road to turn around and come get me, I didn't know wtf was going on.
I told the guy but he didn't seem to care and said I'll have to go on trial. And I sold the car months ago, that's why it's pissing me off. He said there isn't such a thing as antique plates and I have to have stickers

I would go and talk to the court clerk. Ask her how do you get a No registration Ticket AND a wrong registration ticket. I think common logic says to get the wrong registration ticket, you would have to have some kind of registration therefore dismissing the No registration ticket.
Then you would have to dispute the wrong registration ticket by asking "What was wrong with it?"

Yup, this will easily be contested and dropped by an attorney, but you will not break even as you have to pay the attorney tor represent you.
That is ALL you can do, but believe me this will get dropped and you should not be liable to pay any fines since according to you, you were abiding by the law when you were assessed the ticket. Now one thing to consider is, if the cop knew what the laws were, (well he does research all traffic laws prior to becomign a police officer right?) and gave you a ticket anyways knowing that you weren't breaking those laws, then you can prolly counter sue to police.
Again, talk to your lawyer.
