I laughed when I read that, lol.

My wife has had the same Maxima for 12 years now. Looking to upgrade at the end of the year and thus far my #1 choice is the Chevy Cruze Eco or Diesel (2013 model coming out.)

Well like I said, no way Im paying 30K for a Kia. Theyve got the absolute worse resale value of damn near any car with maybe the exception of Jags. Just because they redesigned everything doesnt mean theyre all the sudden top-of-the-line cars, theyve got to earn that reputation and 2 model years isnt enough to convince me atleast. Im happy with what we ended up with so its all a mute point now.

I do not know anything about the new Kia Optima but my wife use to have a 2006 Kia Rio. We bought the car used and put about fifty thousand miles on it. We had one minor issue which was covered under warranty. I am also not sure why people are saying the resale value is bad on Kia's either. I bought a used 2008 Kia Optima and drove it for about a year and a half and put twenty thousand miles on it. I sold the car for two thousand less than what I bought it for. We like Kia's so much my wife now drives a Kia Soul and loves it. Kia makes really nice cars for the money.

I was pretty interested in getting a SX turbo. But I also wasnt wanting to pay 30k+ for the car so I got myself a 99 Formula instead.

Speak for yourself, fatty.

I've only toured one American auto plant (Corvette in Bowling Green, KY). I don't recall any of those workers looking lazy or obese.

I bought a 2011 Cruze turbo. It's just my daily driver but it's a great car. When I travel it gets around 38mpg and city is any where from 26 to 30mpg. Mine has almost all the options except a wheel package because I wanted to be able to put Michelin hydroedges on it and they didn't make any in the upgraded wheel sizes. Overall I'm extremely happy and I paid only $18500 when the car was being sold for $22500. Wouldn't be a bad idea to look at them!

Kia and Hyundai are making some big moves in the economy car market and I hope other manufacturers are taking notice. Quality is up, great fuel economy and styling, and attractive price tags.

I have a Civic for a daily and those new Optimas have really caught my eye, but my Civic is low mileage and paid off so I won't be running out to buy one.

I buy Honda for quality, Chevy for fun.

Because fatty food is abundant and easily obtainable so some choose to eat themselves into complete obesity. Laziness is a contributor as well.

But if you want to compare laziness to other countries in a measure of how much we work, you would be completely wrong. Our people work more than any other country and have less mandated time off than any other industrialized country.

Here are a couple quick stats I looked up.

“Americans work 137 more hours per year than Japanese workers, 260 more hours per year than British workers, and 499 more hours per year than French workers.”

Using data by the U.S. BLS, the average productivity per American worker has increased 400% since 1950.

And for what it's worth, I work my *** off and I am far from obese, so like Ross said. Speak for yourself fatty

You bought used. The people I am talking about are co-workers who bought new. 2 different things.

Do you not understand that you bought used? The person you bought from is the one who lost their ***. There is a 2011 optimally sx with 4000 miles on it priced 5000 below what it probably sold for and that's just the asking price. They are coming up but they're not there yet. With that said imo buying brand new is pretty dumb anyway. Is rather buy vehicles that are a year or two old with very low miles for 15-20% less and use that savings for investments that are an appreciating asset.

2012 Camry > optima

2013 Fusion > optima

Both in same price range.

Buying new cars = lower APR. If you are financing 60 or 72 monthsthen they become the same price.

Not really, Ive got a 2.5% interest rate on a 4 year loan. Very few places offer 0% all the time. Im probably in the minority though as Ill have her car paid off in about 14 months total. I hate car payments and would rather not throw away money.

FYI
New car 31K at 2%= 33,000
Used car 25K at 4.5%= 28,500
So new car does not equal used car. And if you make bigger payments at the beginning of the loan you pay even less interest. Of course that argument all depends on what rates youre actually able to get. My local credit union has pretty good rates on newer used cars, financing a vehicle for 72 or even 60 months is stupid to begin with but thats another topic.

I agree. I have 1.9% on my 9 year old z06. Was offered 1.9% up to 60, and 2.4% up to 72. There are definitely aggressive rates out there for used cars.

I've never seen less than 5% on a new car. But I have been approved multiple times for 0%the on new cars. (I wait and look for those promotions)for instance I can get a new fusion sport loaded for 30 grand 0% apr. The best deal I can find used one was 23k and I got a rate of 5%. At 60 months the new one was cheaper.

But like I said I've never seen 2% financing. In your example though I would be wrong.
