They respond well to mods up to around 400-410 rwhp. Thats normal bolt on stuff. I havent seen to many that do cams for the same reasons mach 1's and cobra's dont do cams generally. Cost per for the hp is pretty high. I have seen some that were full bolt on and nitrous making 550 rwhp. They seem to like superchargers as well.

Well I've pulled a few SS before but the 5.0 that got me had some power that's for sure. The ss in the video didn't sound stock IMO.

I bought a new 5.0 a few months ago. For a stock car, it runs fairly good. Mines an auto. I could see it running high 7's with a converter, tune and exhaust....same as my ta did with same mods. In stock form, it is a better running car than a stock ls1.

A friend of mines went 7.9x @ 91 in an auto with axlebacks, intake, and a tune on street tires. Another guy I know went 7.86 ©91.54 on radials with a m6, jlt cold air, anf an email tune.

They aren't punks, that is for sure. My buddy has a 2012 GT, its an auto, has CAI, Exhaust, stall with 3.73s and has ran 11.3x on slicks at 2200 DA. He has since added a BOSS intake and tuned for E85, I can't wait to see what it run now.

I like them but I can't get over the "noise transmission tube" it's really lame.

Last time I was at the track I saw several of them on slicks and skinnys running in the 8's. I was on drag radials with bolt ons (no cam) running 7's so I wasn't impressed. However I know they can do better than that with the power to weight ratio. I guess all of them needed driver mod's.

On the flip side it's pretty bad *** to see them with bolt on's in the 11's.

Yeah. It's great you found the one video where the normal outcome did not take place. Congrats. You should now dedicate more time to hunting treasure.

The new 5.0 Mustang stays neck and neck or beats the new Camaro in most stock for stock drag races. So by your logic LS1 > LS3. Genius.

One video? I have plenty of 5.0 kills lol..

And no ls1 is not greater than ls3, but ls1 fbodys have ran close if not better in some occasions than the new camaros, those 5th Gens are turds.. not all stock ls1 fbodys were 13' second cars

ok....

so you're saying you consistently beat cars that have similar weights, with around 100 rwhp from the factory more than you with a stock ss camaro? must be racing a bunch of camarogurl74s.

yes its true, not all ls1 4th gens are 13 second cars. the best stock time is something like 12.8, and those are few and far between. the fast majority of stock ls1s run between 13.2-13.6. those coyote mustangs are consistently running mid to high 12s, with the lowest stock time on svtperf. being a 12.2 . ls1> 5.0 my ***

Yep, look it up, it's a tube that goes from the intake tube between the airbox and throttle body and goes into the cabin of the car to produce a louder engine sound inside the car.
