Stock for stock it would be a damn close race. In 15 years, Ford has managed to have no middle ground. You either have the mid 14 second car that all is moderately affordable or you jump to the blown Cobra/GT500 which is hard to afford for most people. I have no doubt if GM had not spread themselves so thin, we'd have seen 425hp pony cars from them in 2006ish.

And I'm suppose to feel sad or something. Ok let change my game plan for racing. I'll stop have the guy pop his hood, ask what he has done, crunch some numbers, and decide if its a fair race. Oh wait your 2013 mustang makes 420 hp, I'm too good for you guy, see ya. Whatever happen to heads up racing. The rest of ya are turds, oh I'm sorry I'm too good for you. Lick my sac.

In a camaro I absolutely concur, but my 99 FRC with vararam and z mufflers pulled a car on a 3.73 mt 5.0 to 100(he let out and wasn't catching) and I gave him the jump. Of course a FRC is prob 300+ lbs less than a Camaro too... Maybe I just got lucky.

Your modded 40k car (when new) pulled a car on a stock 5.0. Congratufuckinlations

The point was that a good ls1 stock in a lighter car will run with a new 5.0. If said 5.0 had an air filter he would have still lost. K thx for your input.
Who gaf what my car cost new. A new 5.0 is close to 40 k too if u get a nice one. Not my fault I'd rather rock an old Vette than a new Mustang.

I mean I get the fkn point. Mod car vs. a stock car, big fkn deal. But I grew up with the old cliche about run what you brung.
For the love of God, take the 5.0 *** kissing to another site.

An airfilter is considered a big mod these days? Wow I'm on the wrong fucken site or this place went downhill.

It's about comparing apples to apples. Hence things like price and mods are important to consider.
Apparently it takes a modded c5 to edge out a new 5.0. I guess a stock fbody would have no shot.
"Run what ya brung" has to be the dumbest ******* cliche of all time. It's the ultimate "I won so what" no matter what it was against or why. Beating something with less mods is not an accomplishment just because they "brought it".
