x 2 ....

On a side note... anyone hate the fact that facebook turned sort of into myspace?

Facebook was fun in college... when only college students could register for accounts and there were no stupid ads or apps. Now everyone and their grandma has one.

LOL that was a huge fail, closed right at initial price $38... I trade for a living, so i played it for a quick buck 38.01 - 41.50. But i think a $100b valuation is crazy. All these new internet start-ups are way over valued. $FB failed earlier than i expected tho haha.

How hard was it to get on opening day?

Did you buy as part of the organization/institution that you work for or did you acquire it on a personal level?

The reason I ask is because I was under the impression that iPo's were for institutional investors only.

Other companies are going to follow GM and cut FB advertising. If GM, a Fortune 500 company, says FB advertising doesn't work, then other companys are probably going to look into that claim.

No i bought it personally, started trading publicly around ~11:40 after some delays. Opened at 42.05 shot to 45 then slowly came back down to 38. So i just picked up some shares for a gamble.

Social Media seems to me like a horrible place to invest your money long term. No one remembers how fast Myspace went in the toilet?

Funny...more wallstreet backdoor dealings with the Facebook IPO announced today. Market is so 'rigged' these days hard to think to spend money on the stuff.

Just seeing how many people I know that are in highschool prefer using twitter instead of facebook reminds me how we moved from myspace to facebook ... I did not jump in. Be careful and trade light!

I totally agree, the traders seemed to know what was gonna happen.

Also I think this social media **** is really creepy, the government tracks every post, tweet etc. My boss also checked tweets for a guy that we were going to hire and learned the guy just complained about working all the time, he did not get the job.
