I use IBC Bank.

They are open 7 days a week, it's nice when you deposit checks on friday and don't have to wait until monday for them to clear.

Also, They are a regional bank and have ATM's all over TX and OK.

I have used Chase for over 20 years for checking/savings. They have good customer service and I can find a location no matter where I am (I travel). I don't have any loans there as they are not the best place for that type of business. So it just depends on what type of banking you will be doing. A Credit Union will yield you better returns on investments/interest though. They normally will also have a more personal relationship than the bigger banks. I think people are moving more from Banks to Credit Unions for these and other reasons others have stated. I just like the amount of locations big banks have over Credit Unions. If you never leave your city than that won’t matter.

Been using USAA & Wells Fargo since 08 & also bank with Texans CU. Wells Fargo is alright very convenient. All over the place. USAA has one of the best insurance rates IMO but they are a internet based bank. They are just now barely starting to open branch stores. Texans doesn't charge a lot of fee which is a + its just there not all over the place.

not to mention JPmorgan chase just only lost a couple billion dollars on a bad trade few days ago...

and BOA are a bunch of crooks like melkor said.

with the lack of credit unions for travel reasons... my credit union partners with US ATM's so i can use those for free when im not in my hometown.. which is nice, i would think all credit unions would offer that.

It wasn't until I worked for the Credit Union of Texas last year, that I realized how much better it is compared to a bank. Aside from that, the Credit Union of Texas is a great company throughout. I went from a 6.9% apr at Carmax to a 2.49% with the CUofTX! We have our checking, savings, line of credit, silverado loan, saab loan, and currently in the process is our home loan @ 3.000% apr

I bank with Tommy Tough Knuckles. Interest rate is a bit high but he doesn't ask for a credit score for a loan. Ok yea he doesn't help with your hospital bills either.

I use Regions for my checking account. I have considered switching over to Wells Fargo. I have my home loan through them and they just have way more locations in my area.

I have a local credit union for my savings account and I also use them for loans on occasion (used cars, boats, etc.).

BoA 20+ yrs...never had missing money problems before. Fraud protection from some single mom in the Bronx watching my transactions was a little unsettling once, but then again I don't think I should have to announce to them whenever I go on a trip because I'm spontaneous like that. ATMs everywhere I go...walked around the block from my hotel in Atlanta a couple of yrs ago and it was just like being home. They came close to losing my account over the threat of fees last year but that sort of blew over.

And just about the time that I'm coming out of jail, hopefully, you'll be coming out of your coma. And guess what? I'll split your ******* head open again, 'cause I'm ******* stupid. USAA and Wells Fargo.

I hate Wells Fargo, and will be closing the account down as soon as I move. To many things with my house link to that account to swap to my USAA account right now.

Go with a Credit Union though, like others have said. They will take way better care of you then a big bank. But if you or your family (mother/father) are associated with the Military, go with USAA.

I have all my accounts and loans through a local cu. I couldn't be happier. Interest rate is alot lower than big name banks. As stated above, ATM's with less frequent locations.
