Worms are breaking out north of $18, a cousin of mine just broke out with Savana Drilling @ $22. Just depends on the company but warning to all looking to come this way for work, the cost of living is getting outrageous, homes for sale are scarce and apartments require a on the spot deposit, if you can find one.

Get on with one of the majors ( Halliburton, Key, Baker Hughes, BJ, Weatherford, Basic) its the easiest way to get your CDL. Get your CDL w/ hazmat then play the field. Thats my best advice.

furthermore, you still have to have your CDL for driving the pickups because, if you weigh more then 10001 lbs your considered DOT, and a majority of the jobs, shy of just a rig hand, which, has little to no room for advancement in the grand scheme, will at sometime, have you driving a truck, even if its a pickup, pulling a trailer which will have you over 10001 lbs... my pickup alone weighs like 8500 with all the standard tools I and iron I have to lug around.... ford f 350 super duty...
i know a lot of rig's won't even hire you at all if you don't have a DL in good standings, and I remember when I worked on a work over/pulling unit rig, they expected all of their drillers to have a CDL to drive the rig to the next location....
i think you can still get a cdl with a dwi, but it has to be so many years ago etc etc... there are guys I work with that have DWI's and CDL's , but you can't get busted with a DWI with a cdl or your FUCKED......
in a previous post, somone mentioned some other service companies, all of which would be good, Halliburton just so happens to be the largest well service company there is.....the most room for advancement, and the all around best bet if you want to advance.

You can get on rigs with no drivers license or a dwi. There is tons of room for advancement as well. I've been doing this for going on 11 years and I'm a Directional Driller making 1440/day. I have no college and started right there on worms corner. Stick with whatever you do and learn anything anyone will teach you.
