If you look again, that was posted beforehand. I was not aware ford entirely built the gt500. I was under the assumption Shelby did "aftermarket" stuff to it like roush. If not than, ok, I was wrong, no big deal. Bad *** car either way. I was basing an OPINION on incorrect information and I apologize.

Who cares, I would like to see them both compared on a road course like they did the zL1 and the Boss.

Ford definatly upped the ante with this new motor as well as the 5.0 Coyote. Although what else would you expect when you punch out the 5.4 to 5.8 and go from a 1.9 to 2.3 supercharger and new cams? It would have been disapointing if Ford didnt get the numbers they did with all the major changes.

Will be interesting to see GMs response. Im a little sad the LSA's bottom end isnt as stout as the 2013 GT500. The LS design is 15 years old but still a very versatile platform im sure it still has some life left in it yet. Im surprised GM didnt stick the LS9 in the ZL1. With the C7 on the horizon and a new motor planned for it as well i doubt it would have hurt Corvette sales too much if at all or at least used the LS9's bottom end in the ZL1.

Not to be a 4th Gen fan boy but the 5.0 can suck it. I've raced.one.and wasn't very impressed (although, could've been a bad driver) I'm not saying they're slow, just that by now I expect a little more. To be honest I like 5th gens but they're still fat pigs. Now, the new Shelby, def impressive... cant really argue that. Just that it took them quite a while to finally get one right.

I am an LS guy today, because it is the best thing on the market. If Ford made something better than I would be a Ford XYZ guy. In my opinion they haven't.

On another note, I find it comical that they have built such a nice car but again screw up the spark plugs. The upper shell wall is very thin (less than 1/16th I've been told) and they are prone to breaking. Funny. Nice care though. Very impressive power.

I like the ford, looks and performance. I prefer the camaro, but performance stand point, the correct changes from GM to spin 6600+ rpm, would level the power field, not of the Chevy was spinning the same RPM as the ford and yield 100 less hp, I would be disappointed. But I'm not.

are you fising, or did you never see it yet? these are built wholy, and completley on the auto alliance production line, right along with every other mustang. the engines are built at fords romeo plant. they come directly from ford as they are sold at the dealers. they are shelby in name only.

he thinks that these go from ford to shelbys plant. i think he doesn't realize all mustangs come down the same assembly line, including the racing mustangs///

you should've read. there's a half dozen threads about this. google is your friend.

shelby DOES do some of the shelbys. but that costs extra. the super snake is an example. that is a product of the shelby plant.

this.

what i think will happen, will be the zl will kick the shelby *** on shorter courses with lots of turns, and not too much straight aways.
the shelby will kick the zl's *** on the longer courses with less turns, and longer straight aways, where it can stretch its legs.

i could be wrong though. the shelby could just flat out *** rape the zl.

technically speaking, the coyote, and the 5.8 liters are designs that are over 40 years old.

You people are so funny. A year ago all that mattered was straight line performance. Imports have handled better for years. Now all of a sudden handling matters because it's the only thing the zl1 can do to that compares to the gt500.

i dunno. i had a pretty good handling 89 mustang. it wasn't stock. it did everything well.

for those that still think that carrol shelby built this car, check this video from 201, and listen to the legend.
