It happened 98-00 with the LS1. The corvette and the camaro shared the same engine. There was no ZR1 or Z06 then.
Performance wouldn't be close with the Camaro having to lug around ~800lbs more.
The current ZL1 can not, and will not, touch the 13' GT500 in performance. Handling is a retarded subject to bring up. The majority of the people that buy these type of cars don't go around courses with turns.

just curious, i thought the vette LS1 and camaro LS1 shared different cam shafts, wasnt the vette LS1 rated @350 and the camaro LS1 @305 in 98-00? i think the same goes for the TPI during its run. The vette TPI was 275hp and the camaro TPI was 230hp for the 305 and 245hp for the 350 if my memory is correct.

the 69 zl1 ran 11.6 1/4 miles. there are no vettes from the 60's shown touching that.
