Wow, wonder how long before state inspection goes this route to fail cars that have things like rear o2's deleted so the SES won't come on. I know a car shouldn't pass a visual with CATS removed but alot of people don't look.

I doubt they ever will. Inspection stations dont care what kind of power the car is putting out or whether or not its been geared. As long as it passes the sniffer test and doesnt show any CEL's it should pass.

That is all it really is. I'll see if it makes a difference.
As far as the warranty goes I've had modified cars before that were fine going back to the dealer. I've already stated that on average we do 1 to 1.3 million dollars in business per year with one dealer so I HIGHLY doubt they won't honor my warranty for any issues. Well if they don't want the business they can screw me out of a $5K engine lol. Good business move there.
Intake should be in today, I'll try to get out to Baytown this weekend for some more results.

I heard the new Fords have a heated tailgate?
Thats a great mod for the winter when it wont start and you have to push it back to the dealer!
Whats with the red stripe on the seat? You get free beer for showing that? New vehicles are great, I just bought my wife a new Tahoe and so to each his own. But to me there is nothing nice looking about your truck. For the record I think the Mustangs are great looking cars but the truck is as ugly as a mud fence.

This F150 is just killing it. Come check out the interior, the fit and finish and the performance of this truck and tell me it isn't the best. This is coming from a GM guy too!! lol

I agree. I would much rather have a GM and I have owned the current generation Silverado. The new F150 is better truck. Not my favorite in the looks dept, but you know what they sold 300,000 of them last month, so obviously the buying public is not too concerned. And yes that is more units than Chevy and GMC combined. I have big hopes for the '14 Silverado, but it will have to impress me for sure.

Seriously? So you don't think a loyal customer who spends millions of dollars with you as a single sales man should get more leniency then Joe blow beating you up for a single sale? I must be a real horrible customer when I call and ask for 15 band new trucks and cut you a check for them and you never hear from me again. I'd never want you as my contact point so do everyone a favor and get out of the business. Being in a company that sells equipment in the oil field we go out of our way, going above and beyond what is reasonable to keep customers and to keep them happy for less. That's the exact type of attitude that ruins customer service/relations. -Not trying to be a dick either. ;-)
Yes, seriously. You come in to a dealership and buy a truck, I dont really care if you buy one or 1500 to be honest, and sign paperwork saying you understand the implied warranty on the vehicle (trust me, its in the documentation) then modify the truck and expect it to be fixed at no cost to you? Call me crazy but I treat every single one of my customers the EXACT same regardless of financial status or how many vehicles they've bought. Now, if you bought the truck, modified it and broke it. Then you came in and said "Hey man, i've bought a couple hundred thousand in vehicles from you guys and this is the first issue like this i've had, can you help me out?" Then I would be willing to work with you on the cost of labor and parts to fix the truck. The last dealership I worked for ended up going under and getting sued by Ford for warranty fraud for trying to help out their good fleet customers. They got to a point where they couldnt afford to absorb the cost of the repairs so they start forging warranty paperwork and lieing to Ford about it. Now they have 175+ employees looking for work and owe Ford over $750,000 in fraudulent warranty payouts. And to be perfectly honest in my mind if you can afford to buy as many vehicles as you say you do then you can afford to fix it when you break the warranty agreement and the truck fails. I'd rather spend my time helping out the single mom whos trying to get the tranmission put back in her 14 year old escort so she can get her kids to school than help the guy in the booming oil business fix his play truck because he broke it.
And to be honest, if you submitted a warranty claim and Ford accidentally found those time slips you posted admitting to tracking the truck. Well, they could void your warranty there as well.
Simple fact is, if you dont want to pay to fix your new truck if it breaks, dont modify it.

There is no sniffer test here for 96 and newer vehicles(OBD II) I wasn't referring to power or gearing either. I was talking about "fooling" the computer so it doesn't realize emissions equipment has been removed/modified. If inspection stations were to use similar technology as Ford is using where if they plugged the vehicle up as they do every time for an inspection it would recognize the tune or deletion of certain parameters and immediately fail the vehicle.

I respect your refusal to admit to the trucks questionable esthetics. I will also aggree with you with the GM trucks not looking or performing any better.
I was ready for a new truck in '07 when GM came out with what has to be (in my opinion) the uggliest truck they have ever built. So I bought a truck with the body lines I like and sunk some cash into it instead. Some people like it, some people despize it. But as I am sure you will aggree, looks are in the eyes of the beholder and you customize to your taste and not everyone elses.
GM, Ford & Dodge as well as Toyota & Nissan build these uggly *** huge front nose/grill trucks that try and mimic a Peterbuilt or Kenworth diesel truck. For some reason they seem to think we all wanrt to be "Truckers" and dress accordingly.
Give me an aerodynamic front end with clean lines, less attcahments and more paint. If I could take a SUburban and rip out the rear 6 seats and put in a truck bed I would do it. That would be a smok'n ride!!
Oh well, enjoy your truck, let us know how it runs on the track.

Nice truck, I bought a King Ranch a few months ago. I got the 5.0L but wished I would have got the ecoboost now. I just didnt trust it towing, but so far people have had great results. Good thing I just leased the truck. I will get a F-250 when my lease is done then I wont have to worry about towing anything.

I just really hate all the fake chrome car companies have been adding to the front of trucks lately. Its like they think plastic chrome is a godsend. BARF
My favorite older truck style is probably the '58 with dual headlights, then 69-70 style gm and the 80s square body. For the newer trucks I love the newer Tahoe front end and then it would be a tie for the 99-03 and the cat eye style.

I averaged 14.5-15mpg while towing through the hills from Columbus, Tx to Lake Buchanan (north of austin). And that was doing 75 the whole way. Truck had 4 passengers, bed full of luggage and boat accessories and the 20 foot bowrider in tow. My truck is the FX4 with 3.73s

I got 11.5 mpg towing this vvv to Dallas from south of Houston, running 70 mph....Just the empty trailer was like 13.5 mpg. Same drive with no trailer is 15.5 mpg. All hand calculated.

I agree with the comments made about the Ford interiors... I have always been a GM guy but honestly, GMs interiors suck....every last one of them... Even the new Vettes interiors are cheesy for a $60k car. The GM truck interiors just looked like a plain jane work truck interior to me.... And for $45k for a truck, I expected a lot more luxury/sport/gizmos....I am also not that big on the new GM (07 and up) body style... I prefered the classic body style but...
The Ford truck interiors are just awesome and that is what really swayed me to look seriously at Ford trucks...
I am 98% happy with my F150, the other 2% is for the missing fuel economy I am not getting but.... All in all, I love the truck and its power.
OP, keep me posted on your track numbers, I wanted to go to RPR this Friday and run mine as well but I have other engagements pending.

However let it be known that the truck does not see that MPG very often. The sound of the turbos and the way the power comes on is entirely too tempting.
