Definetely not illegal. Great way to attract bait at night which will bring in the fish.

We've had our underwater lights for about 7 years now. And a lot of other neighbors have them. As far as i know there perfectly fine. I fish in them all the time.

Paging Mike TexaSS... Paging Mike TexaSS...

They are 100% legal in Texas. I know Mike's parents pier has them and our dad wanted to have them installed when we finished the bay house.

Green lights are legal.

I have a buddy with a 25 ft pontoon boat with green lights and couches...night fishing rules.

That is an awesome pic, about 3 limits just schooling right in your face.

And yeah, another "legal" vote. We drop them down off the side of our boat when we night fish. Plus tons of homes have underwater lights installed at the end of their piers.

I just bought a aquastar green underwater light and they mentioned a state that it was illegal in and i cant remember what state but it was not Texas. I dont know how accurate that is but i havnt been messed with yet.. although ive only used it at the house i havnt had a chance to take it anywhere yet.

I got a halogen one cause it was only like 40$ but i really want a LED one and the more the merrier i would think cause fishing in salt or brakish water the halogen submerged lights don't exactly have a large diamater to fish around being only like 600,000-candle power so it would be nice to set a couple up like 5-10' of each other.

also my halogen one pulls about 8 amps so with a 115 amp hour deep cycle battery you would get a little over 14hrs of use before recharging your battery but the LED one only pulls about 1 amp so you have a rough 115 hours of fishing light with the LED one.

we have a variant that we built out of a halogen bulb, 5 gallon bucket, concrete and some water proof adhesive.... does the same thing but a bit more powerful to work in our canal.

we have a home on the water in Rockport, Tx... almost every other home has a setup like ours or the one you posted... I doubt it is illegal.
