Default DISH Network = no AMC

I'm sure as many of you already know, Dish did not renew their contract with AMC. Leaving us fans of The Walking Dead and Breaking Bad out in the rain. First it was Fox now this. I'm considering switching to Direct as this is the only other option where I'm at. Anyone else have thoughts on this?

Guess I'm gonna have to download them from some where after they air. Kind of a pain.

I have ATTuverse, too many trees in our yard for Dish or Direct. We previously had Dish at our old house. There are a lot folks considering a move to another cable provider over Dish pulling this stunt. Good news for Dish folks, at least short term. AMC did say they would stream these programs for Dish subscribers..

from what I gathered, viacom sent directv a telegram and demanded they blackout the channels or face some kind of charges since an agreement hand't, and still hasn't been met. i think most of the channels are nick cartoon channels, mtv and some other music video channels. i have no other available option, so i had to go with dish or directv, and after looking into it, i went with directv, they seemed to have a bigger channel line-up. it seems satellite tv pulls this stunt every summer. i missed a couple episodes a couple years ago of s.o.a. because dish was having this crap!

Guess now would be a good time for Dish subscribers to make an "angry" phone call and use this as leverage to get a better rate or different channels.

If you have an xbox you can get them on the zune player. That's how I watch. Its like 12 bucks, and available the day after. I thought it was just a rental, but I can still go back and watch any episode I want.

Can you explain a little more? Does that get you access to everything or just the episodes from Breaking Bad as many times as you like?

You do it by the seasons of each show. I do it this way because my work schedule and other things keep me from being around the tv enough to watch every episode. Like I said, its like $12 worth of Microsoft points to watch something. Not the best solution, but works if you're desperate and don't have the network.
