Default Rockets to get Lin back from the Knicks

Unless anything changes in the next 5-6 hours, we will be getting him back. Please discuss...

Well, which point to discuss? The fact the Lin 's agent got him a deal so back-loaded that ther was no way New York could keep him and pay the outrageous 3rd year, plus the luxury tax hit. I think he really wanted NY over Houston, but got a deal that wouldn't allow NY to match. So, I guess Houston knows how to market with the Ming experience and doesnt mind overpaying. I'd be interested in knowing how much the added marketing will be worth.

I feel that we must add at least 1 superstar if not 2. Just him by himself is obviously not enough to be a real contender. I like his aggresive style and think he is a great point guard. To all the people saying that we are crazy for offering him that much money, did you see anything other than a mediocre team for the last 4-5 years, or did you see the team going anywhere with last years roster? Ill answer for you, **** no. I feel in order for us to be a respectable basketball team that people actually want to pay to see, we have to spend some money and take some chances.

Charlie, don't diagree with you last post at all. Well, maybe about how good Lin is or will be, but I think it was a great move to get him. Like I said, I think they'll make their money off Lin alone and maybe get better with other pieces. Everybody overpays, you have too. Agreed, the rockets couldnt sit still and expect to get better. You said it, "take some chances".

Heres the kicker, imagine if we would have just kept him the first go round. Prob could have signed him to a 4 year conctract for like 10-12 million dollars.

Lin was an above avg guard when he was starting for the knicks and he turned the ball over alot in that time... remember dantoni was the coach... run and gun all day.... now with the rockets it is more of a half court offense so im interested in seeing how he does in that type of offense... but IMHO rockets only signed him for marketing reasons

Cant hate on Lin, the guy won how many games in a row with Amare and Melo out? The Melo came back in the lineup and f*cked everything up..lol

Not a bad idea to get Lin.. You need fast PG in the NBA nowadays

In other words, we suck so bad that the only way to get people to come play for Houston is to overpay them. Thats pretty much the theme with all the garbage teams these days no matter what league or sport you play in. Is Lin a good point guard? For 35 games at least, he was. Is he $25M good? No. Like was mentioned above, this is a huge marketing move, nothing more. Even though he was putting up "Nashian" numbers for a good amount of those games, something about getting schooled by Mario Chalmers doesn't instill much confidence.

I think Daryl Morey is a master at shifting around mediocre talent resulting in...you guessed it. A mediocre product. He hasn't accomplished anything during his tenure with this team.
