Ford still hasn't gotten the power stroke right. My neighbor is a diesel technician and their fleet trucks are the new fords and he is always complaining about them
My wife and I love our silverado 2500. Granted its the gas version but we picked it up for the price of a 1500

I've got a '10 Ram 2500 with the 6.7 and the 68RFE auto... No problems here.
I've been running a CAI, full emissions deletes, boost tubes, intake manifold, 5" TBE, plus a 100hp fuel box for over 20,000 miles, bought the truck with 38k on it.
No problems at all. I love it. Best interior hands down, and best exterior looks IMO.
With a 6" lift, 37" tires on 20" wheels, I average 17-18mpg if I drive smart. ~13-14 avg with a heavy foot.

Alot of feelings get hurt in post like this..........................I have a one of each. My 7.3 PS has 214,000 and Ive run a 110hp programmer and drove the **** out of it since it had 136,000 with zero issues. My 12v Cummins has over 400,000 with a #100 fuel plate, and has spent the largest part of its life pulling back hoes and skid steer loaders and also had no issues. I know that your question wasnt about older trucks but my point is that you can have issues with any of them. There are die hard Ford guys and Chevy and so on but they all fail at times. DMax was the worst when they first came out in my opinion but have come along way. 6.7 PS caught people in fire from the exhaust, 6.0's had head gasket failure, 24 valve cummins threw lift and injection pumps, DMax had injector issues, New Cummins had turbo problems, and the list goes on. Look up factory recalls on each truck that you are considering and I would not buy anything new within about the first 2 years that it is out. Give them time to work the bugs out. Good luck with your excursion.

The pictures I have found of the GMC All Terrain HD is very nice.
I guess for now to keep myself from being so bored with my GMC, I need to play with it some more. The power of 500/700 doesnt impress me anymore so I am looking at a different programmer and maybe some other work but mostly I want it bigger. I am looking at a Cognito 10" lift and some 40" tires since it isn't my daily driver. I will probably talk myself out of it but that is what I desire today.

I think you need a moped.

Yet you can! Just shell out enough money for an f-650...The only engine available for the thing is the rear gear train version of the engine in the ram.

Ok I currently drive a 2012 F250 crew cab Diesel, Fully loaded to the hilt and I absolutely love it! 12K miles thus far and not an issue. I drove it to Utah cruising at 82-85 and averaged 16.8 mpg's, then to Oklahoma last week at 75 and avg'd 17.2. The 2011 and up are pretty much problem free (to this point) and hold thier value quite well. I looked at Gmc 2500 4x4 ccsb Slt and 2500 dodge Laramie 4x4 ccsb and although I preferred the cummins 6.7, went with the Ford b/c of appearance and the 6.7 raves I heard. Too each his own but to me the Ford is a total winner, I doubt I'll own any different 3/4 ton truck.

Yeah I agree Ross, GM's GMT-900 LTZ interior looks like dog meat compared to high end Ford and Ram interior. However, I don't mind the GMT-900 work truck interior at all and that's what I would buy. I not really into luxury trucks like the LTZ, Denali, King Ranch, etc but that's my opinion. There's a huge market for luxury trucks and GM needs to hit a home run with the next gen to stay competitive. Rumor is that GM is going to introduce a classy country "King Ranch" Silverado model above the LTZ. From what I have read as well, GMC is going for a high tech look and Chevy is going for a more western/conservative look to separate the brands. I have good faith that GM will deliver because they have been producing awesome interiors lately, like the ATS, XTS, and Impala.

Yeah I saw those too. That's def the "work truck" level interior. Its not mind blowing awesome looking but economical and simple. I just hope the materials and quality are better than the current gen. It looks comparable to the '13 F150.

Ross, thats not an upper level interior either. I havent seen any interior shots with a center console yet. If I could get a Ford F250 with a cummins in it, I wouldve bought a new truck. When I was ready to buy earlier this year nothing really excited me, enough to drop big money on a truck. I like things about all of them but none of them are the perfect "package" deal right now IMO.

did you ever say what you plan on doing with the truck?? cummins and dmax are slightly more reliable than the new psd's but the psd's are nasty, all 3 mod for mod are pretty much neck and neck, all 3 will need a new trans if your buying auto and plan on staying in hott tune. If the truck is mostly a daily that you can have fun in and occasionally tow with any of the 3 will do the job, you just have to find which truck you like the looks of and interior better. if your looking for a work horse than my vote is the cummins, idk how many of the guys on here do some real towing but thats how a local guy in my area makes some spare change and he swears by his cummins.
Personally if i buy a diesel, it's gonna be a dmax because im a gm man, but if i was looking for a workhorse this guy has shown me that cummins is pretty much where its at.
