Default Polished my coil covers. What do you think?

The only easy part.Stripping the paint

Then you just wipe it off

Then the labor starts Started with 120 grit

Then 220 git

Followed by 400 grit

Then 800,then a 1000 grit.If done right you will start to see the shine

Then throw some elbow grease on her

On to the cam covers

Sand em down

Primer/adhesion promoter

Primer and sand

Then I tried VHT's Wrinkle black (Before cure)

After Cure

The Final product "The Payoff"

Do you have access to a benchtop grinder/buffer? With all the sanding you did you should be able to get that cover to shine like a mirror. I could give it a try on mine if you like.

I did these pegs for a buddy.

I use tripoli compound on a sewn buff wheel then finish it with simichrome paste on a loose section buff wheel.

Damn, that looks good. I honestly would have thought you'd need 1500 or 2000 grit to get a shine like that. How many hours do you think you had in each one?

Nice work, I did the same process with my fuel rails. It may be the pics, but the final outcome looks a little dull. Did you use any polishing rouge on a buffing wheel? That really brings out the shine.

I used that stuff to strip the paint off my air lid. I left it overnight and the next morning I found that someone had stolen it. And get this! They left a puddle of black goo in it's place! Thieves!
