IPhone 5?
It seems you would have the answer to that question, now wouldn't it?
Maybe I wanted something nice with proven hardware & software?
Tell me what you use your phone for that you can't do on an iPhone. It does "more", you say. Let's hear it. I'm interested.
if you have a signal you can use wifi correct? if i had a signal, id just use my phones internet. and the free wifi is a verrizon vs att battle.
music can be listened to for free with a free app from itunes.
as for the rest of it, id suggest getting a girl friend. lmao
"So to you I pose the same question, what can your iPhone do that my GS3 can't?" im not the one arguing that my phone is better.
as for swapping batteries, do you even own another battery. and so you know, there are accesories that can be bought that charge an iphone with out needing a wall outlet or a car charger. they are basicly external batteries that act like chargers..
each phone has its highs and lows. i wouldnt say either is better than the other. they pretty much can do more than any person will ever do with a phone.

2.) I have one already, thanks.
3.) Why would I buy something to charge my phone for 50 bucks or even more when I have another battery already? I could buy a battery much cheaper than that to use in my phone, no need for something to be plugged into the bottom of my phone like the extra battery packs I've seen for the iPhones.
I'm not arguing that the iPhone isn't a nice phone. I'm simply saying my phone does more. You say they both have highs and lows, what are your highs vs my lows? I just pointed out plenty to argue my point.
My battery is removable, which means if I for some reason need multiple batteries or decide I want an extended battery, that's possible.
My phone can be mounted as a USB drive essentially, which makes transferring data MUCH easier (and sometimes faster) than syncing.
Android has had voice controls for quite a while now... not that I use them.
I have widgets. While your checking your facebook or looking up the weather, mine is right there, on the home screen... waiting for me instead of me waiting for it.
I have NFC if I decide to use it, although honestly that's not a feature I really use.
Removable storage. Pretty self explanatory. Also expandable storage, so I don't have to spend a bunch of money for the 32GB version since I already have a 32GB micro SD.
I can broadcast a wifi signal from my phone, for free.
All of that is right out of the box. If I choose to root my phone (which I did) there are a whole lot more things. Custom roms, kernels, the ability to make full backups of my phone incase anything were to happen, even overclock my processor. Custom roms keep me up to date on the newest software, I don't have to wait for it to be officially released or the next phone to come out. I download it, "flash" it..and enjoy.

Although the attach thats kinda cool give u that
I can attach pictures in e-mails with my iPhone 4s. I do it all of the time.
My iPhone 4s' LED light can be and IS set to flash when I am receiving a text or call.

ZOMG I bought this AWEZOM phone!
-Cool, what do you use it for?
Text and email.
-That's it?
Yeah, and I can talk to it and she talks back to me too!
-Neat.
Half of the people I talk to, I share that exact conversation with. Most of my friends are iPhone users, it makes me lawl when they call me asking for directions.
However, on the flipside, I've yet to meet an Android user who doesn't take full advantage of their phones capabilities. Although, I will admit, there probably are those that exist, but they aren't grasping for my attention showing off their overpriced flashy new phone.
I've got the Galaxy S1, but am debating on whether to get the S3. I'm extremely pleased with my phone and haven't had any issues with it. Apart from being outdated, it really can hold it's own against my friends iPhones (haven't played with an i5 yet). So it boils down to whether I just want a 'new' phone, because I cant complain about my current one.
My 2 cents- Don't buy a smartphone if you don't plan on using it to at least half of it's potential and capabilities. I've come across way too many people who just buy an iPhone because it's the new-cool-thing to have.

with a 2 second search on google, mobile wifi tethering is available free through verizon (im sure you are paying for it in the data plan) for the iphone and is a small fee through att.
another 2 second search showed me how to turn my led on for notifications
and the battery thing... who really grabs another battery as they are leaving the house or has one in their pocket at all times?? this is a very mute point to me.

iTunes has it's ups and downs. USB...I can transfer my pictures from my phone to my computer straight through Windows Explorer or other software...just like you would a regular digital camera. Simple.
Widgets are kind of gay. You can see the temp outside at a glance. I can swipe my thumb in a downward position and see the exact same thing. It takes about a tenth of a second at most. Checking the outside temp 600 times a day? You save 1 minute total. You win.
Much like the battery issue. You have to buy your extra storage. Nothing is free.
You got me on the tethering. AT&T wants to charge me for that. I clearly don't need it, or I'd have it. With that said, the iPhone will do it.
In my opinion, they are both good phones which is why I won't bash either one or it's user.
ummm i dont see how this is just true of iphone users. what i wrote applied to both phones. and if your friends cant figure out how to get directions on their iphone, then that is not the phones fault but only the lack of knowledge on your friends' part.

and with icloud, any pic or vid taken on the iphone, shows up on any other device that is connected to icloud within minutes of taking them. and itunes now syncs wirelessly through any wifi connection.

and back to the battery thing, who wants to lug around a five pound extended battery which would also mean buying a different back plate to cover it. id rather plug my phone into a "go anywhere" charger that takes minutes to recharge my phone then throw it back in my backpack, car, desk or whatever and stick my phone back on the clip and go.
I do have friends whine about having to download software to use other software. I do get annoyed I cannot use adobe.
