Like the raised runner
Like the DI.
Like the dry sump standard (about time)
Don't like the cam driven DI pump (going backwards?)
Don't like the fact that GM says it's going to be impossible to tune.
Don't like the fact it only makes 20 more hp. It should have been a 475hp engine imo.
Cylinder Head Comparison, looks like they saved a ton of weight here in the casting:

Notice the tri-lobe lobe on the very end driving the DI pump

The year gaps are pretty cool, the Gen II debut for the model year 1992, 22 years after the LT-1 in 1970, the Gen 5 will debut for the 2014 model year, 22 years after the Gen II did.
The only people who are going to make a strong reference to this LT1 and the Gen II LT1 and view it negatively are probably 4th gen owners. Which in that case, since GM isn't selling the new 7th generation Corvette on craigslist for $6500obo, I don't think it's an issue as that demographic will not be the target market. The last Gen II LT1 will have been built 17+ years ago by the time 2014 rolls around, I am sure it will be long removed from the average buyers mind. For the rest of us, it's another example of GM reusing rpo codes. LS6 any one?

Not much is said. I have read a few of Big_Gunz posts on the matter. I can read between the lines and this ECU/M is apparently a badass ************...so bad it has to be isolated in a VM environment and can only be unlocked with two encryption keys..GM doesn't want this ************ escaping into the net and ******* all kinds of **** up, crashing servers, routers and basically crotch-smashing the ******* internet with its badassitude...

Its a DFI car so probably a Siemens based ECU. They will be tuneable but it's just time/money. Look into the Porsche, Lambo, Audi, VW, etc world. Very few TRUE custom tunes, only one good tune editor (WinOLS), bypassing everything is a bitch, etc... So you see 2 vendors I know of in the Porsche world that have flashers. Softronic (Which some other tuners use his uploader for their files) and EPL which built his own over the last 10 years starting in the VW world.
Welcome to my world. I don't see a LS1Edit/HPTuners setup for individual users for probably as long as that motor is in production.

"409"
If by some miracle the ECM/ECU fuel tables are accessed, it automatically voids the warranty on the entire vehicle.
The GTR computer system has and enable "black box" type of ecu that was encrypted internally/ essentially it was a stand alone OS. Thus it could be interrogated until unlocked. This ECM makes the GTR ECU look like a calculator.
My suggestion would be for consumers if enough of them are wanting it to push for "Performance Optimization Services."![Winky](https://ls1tech.com/forums/images/smilies/LS1Tech/gr_wink.gif)
I have a feeling the finally output numbers will satisfy 80% of consumers.
Wait for it.
Warmest regards,
Bigg Gunz
