What is a good second language to learn??
Well I was thinking today what would be a good second language to learn and learn fluently for that matter. Also from those who have learned a second language what was your way of learning.
Also what languages help improve a persons job outlook in the oil industry just though I would throw that question as well.
Thanks.

I work for a foreign oil company with fields in Brazil, SW Africa etc...We take Portuguese classes twice a week and have been for the last 6 mos, a teacher from Berlitz comes to our office. Portuguese, French and or Spanish would all probably be useful. I have also started messing with Rosetta Stone.

It's a long story. I'll keep it simple, I learned it when I was younger.
With learning any and all languages you want to start with the basics first. With Arabic you want to start with the 27 Arabic characters. Use auditory support, this helps a lot. Practice daily and this might sound weird, but try to think in Arabic and not in your primary language.

Fluent in english,spanish,italian.
Italian is very similar to spanish, if you can speak o da spanish. Should be able to pick up italian fairly quick. Portuguese shouldnt be too dificult either, im working on it. Its not too difficult, just takes practice and want to learn. Childrens learning books come in handy. with pics and pronunciation.

Ha! You're soo funny! That's not a language. That is a term some dumb *** so called "educators" came up with. Retarded simple-minded people actually believe it to be a language.
I'll stick to knowing and speaking actual languages (other than bastardized English) and getting paid for it. Thanks.
