Abilene any 93 octane
#4
I saw posted somewhere else that the Valero by the mall on Buffalo Gap rd has some and sure enough the pumps say 93 on them. Im going to start getting fuel there for this car, who knows if its really 93 though, some one on the other thread claimed it was actually 91, but arent they randomly checked?

I will find out where they load it. Not sure where the closet rack is to load Valero gas is.
If they get it out of Waco, then it probably is 93 because I can load 93 unbranded fuel there.
All of the racks around here... Delek ( the old pride refinery) Holly Energy(in Tye) and Alon(in Big Springs)
Are all 91octane. There are a couple places around town that you can get straight conventional gasoline without ethanol if you care.. they are the conoco stations. At the Delek rack you can only load unbranded fuel, Shell and Exxon with about 9 to 10 percent ethanol. At Holly and Alon you can choose with out ethanol depending on what the customer wants.
I will ask around about the Valero and report back my findings.

I asked around to the other gas haulers and he told me the that they pull that gas out of Magellan in Aledo
Which is the same gas that is out here at Delek(PRIDE) because its a Magellan pipeline and its all 91.
They truck It from Aledo cause its the closest rack to get the Valero additives to make it a branded gas.
I don't know of anywhere that you can get 93 in Abilene.
This is what I was told. There is a station in Brownwood that has 93 on their super and I put 91 in it sometimes. Cause sometimes they get their gas from Magellan in Waco that is 93 and sometimes they get it from Abilene that is 91.
Hope this helps.

It will be intersting to see what the outcome is. The really bad part of 91 is the octanes arent on seperate hoses, so you're probably getting a gallon of 87 still in the hose or system before it starts spitting out 91, so we're lucky if we get even 90 octane. Cant win! Where I moved from there was a Sunoco near my house and 93 was on its own hose. Those were the days...come to Texas and its **** gas.

If the inside diameter of the gasoline hose is about 3/4 of inch or 19 millimeters or 1.9 centimeters. The area of the end of the hose is Pi Rsquared or.95 x .95 x 3.1416 which equals 2.835 square centimetersSo the volume of a meter of hose is 2.835 x 100 or 283.5 ccsGuessing the hose to be about 3 meters long (10ft) then the volume of the hose is 3 x 283.5 or about 850 ccsThere are 1000 ccs in a litre so you would get about 0.85 liters of gas left in the hose per fillup.
