welcome to Htown. This city is so freakin big so like Ultradriver10000 asked it depends on what part of the city you are in. There are xlnt shops around that can do anything from simple tune to grab a number and stand in line for fully blown + nitrous. The 3 shops I'd be honored to work on my car are: 510 Race Engineering, Late Model Racecraft, and Auto Adrenaline Performance. All have websites, just google them. I live in No Houston area and will be visiting 510 Race Engineering for some future work since I live close.
Car Meets: there a lot around town. I actually went to one tonite in the Spring area. There are cars and coffee meets, which are held in the mornings usually on Sundays and once a month, just find a local one close to you. Usually start at 8am-11am which is great so it doesn't take a lot of time. Then there are hooters cars shows, usually monthly and usually start around lunchtime - different locations. Then there are annual benefit shows at different places. And of course there are the town sponsored, or the bigger community shows. Also there are Houston vette clubs, etc. Attend any of these events, find the vette section and get your name on their email lists and you will have new found friends.

Thanks everyone! I live off of I-10 and Wirt rd. The vette is a procharged 402 with a little tranny work. My next projects are the tube, rear end and coilovers. I am already loving driving it on I-10!!!
