I've work in reality TV for 9 years now, we (producers/editors) do whatever the network suits say to do. They sign the final checks. If the network wanted the "farm truck" to be pink, it would be. And if OKC had a problem with it, there are LOTS of other areas that would LOVE a show on them, and WOULD do all the network notes required. it's just the way it goes out here in my "reality tv" world.
Now, being from LA, i'm pretty sure us and Houston might have the fastest street cars and only because of the $$ we have to throw around. Not trying to start any internet wars, but speaking geographically, it makes sense.
And since I'm actually working on creating a new "car street race" show, one that might be more realistic to us people who have raced illegally, It also helps me pitch my new shows if hollywood hears that LA is the fastest. But again, it's a network "note" I've pre-addressed, but that doesn't mean it's true, and that already starts drama for a show.
I'm not knocking anyone in any state or taking away from the fact that Murder Nova is fast, it sure is, just saying that in my show, we're all equal, and when/if you run your mouth, you gotta run your car (and our cars dont run on handshakes and "fun" ). It's that easy....but dont bring a knife to a gun fight. Know what I mean?
Also remember that the suits that "give us notes" on these shows dont know anything about this world, but they have to make it work for TV, and thats how "lists" and drama get artificially created.
But that's my 3rd car show. My first 2 are actually way further up in the pitch process.

Sommer is pretty much spot on... The producers wanted me to say all kinds of crazy **** LOL. As most of you know, I don't need help to talk ****. I do fine on my own. It was still a very fun experience. I wish the races were edited and shown a little differently but thats okay.

I still think its funny. I know a couple of the guys on there like Tony Varley. He's cool as hell and a great of a engine builder. He makes a Mudstain run like a bat out of hell.
If you guys dont like the show, dont watch it. I dont street race (cough, cough) I like the track and track prep but to each his own. Just about every race has someone going sideways, to many obstacles to hit other than a concrete barrier.
I like the dog!!
