If you say so. If the OP wants to let it go cheap I've got a pocket full of cash I'll be the first in line to offer.

Yeah no ****.. I was in the market for a 5.7 and a 5.3 for my swap for about 3 months and I could find a single LS1 under 1500 with all accessories. I ended up getting a 5.3 out of a junkyard for 600 pan to harness with 50k on the clock. ( sold harness and other **** and ended up just paying 300 for long block ) but thats a 5.3 with no f-body accessories. This motor is easily worth 1500+ and Id probably pay for it too if I didn't have my 5.3 already. Hell LQ4 and LQ9 these days low mileage are going for 1300-1500

The problem is there is a lot of fraud in used engines. One that has some amount of authenticity to the mileage and condition should command a premium. Especially if the buyer can hear it before it is pulled.

The other side of the coin is that killing an LS1 in 31k miles isn't that hard if you race it.

If I needed one I wouldn't think twice about handing you $2k for it.

If you were in the Bay Area I'd give you 1500 no bs that's a deal considering you don't have to rebuild

You can buy a whole wrecked ls1 f body with 79-200k miles running and driving for 2500 at insurance auction for a 99-02 auto ls1 and 2500-3k for a 6 speed running car. My buddy gets them all the time from there. Just my two cents about 8-1000 is the sweet spot. ls2's are going cheap and ls3's and l92s are going for 2500 long block only. Just do some looking around

Not everyone wants a pile of car they have to cut the motor out of and hopefully sell what they don't use. Plus a high mile, abused (wrecked and who knows what else) motor isn't comparable to a clean low mile motor. Plus I went to an insurance auction to buy a running f body swap car and couldn't land one with 2700. I watched a 190k mile auto 98 car sell for 2700 wadded up in the front. You'd need a torch to get that motor out.

This is very true too and you have a very good point. There are always some cars at ins auction that are hard hit high miles etc AND still bring crazy high money for god knows why. I know he could have bought a 2001 Z28 with 96k miles hit very lightly in front running/driving for 2350, he backed out and it sold for 2375! This was 3 weeks ago. The f bodys are not bringing high dough anymore. Gto's in manual with an Ls2, and ls3/l99 camaros bring a fortune. The G8's are hit and miss unless its a gxp then thry bring a mint.

Again....I won't be selling a beat up wrecked 100k mile car to take up space in your driveway. I'llbe selling the heart of a sseriously well maintained...30k mile 01 SS. The motor will be available to "drive" before uninstalling and a compression and leak down can be arranged. This will be sold from throttle body to LS6 intake to water pump to oil pan. I'v responded to all P'S and have had offers already. The motor won't be available till mid summer as I don't even have a new motor ready yet. Thanks again all for the valuable input.
