I'm looking for a rustang to swap and came across this. That quickly stopped the search and my appetite.

Love the first gens, have a soft spot for the foxes and even the 94-97 (dare I say the 98-04) bodies but something happened in the 70s. It's like someone threw a bunch of flash bangs into the design room and forced them to finish drawing and submit whatever they had.

They redeemed them selves in 1979 with the Fox Body cars. Pretty crazy how essentially the fox body platform remained in production all the way to the 2004.

98TA6.0 how much are you looking to spend? I have 2 foxbodies an 86 Coupe and an 88 T-bird

Coupe is setup for a SBC but a LSX will bolt in, you would need exhaust though
https://ls1tech.com/forums/small-blo...k-warning.html

T-bird is stock and will let it go for cheap

pm for details

My sister had one of those back in the day. When I could talk her into loaning it to me, I'd get my friends and we'd do burnouts with it, and just generally beat the **** out of it. Ah those were the days....

Can't believe they are asking 16.5k for it. I doubt he'll get anything close to that. Maybe he accidentally added a zero that shouldn't be there.

My dad had a 71' fast back almost that ugly. Somehow it still looked good when the front wheels were three feet up and the back bumper was 2" from the VHT.

Yeah, I actually like all Mustangs up to and through '73. It's 74 is when the styling went to crap for both ford and GM, and the horsepower went way down too, with all the emissions crap, oil embargo, etc. This was the beginning of the "dark era" for muscle cars. We definitely can see the light now, but only those with deeper pockets than average. Can you imagine a time when the average Joe could afford a big block Camaro?

I know I am the minority but I love those cars- small, light and ready for a 347.

I really like the era of the 'decal GT' .... Outlandish in your face styling. Just didn't have any power to back it up.

The VERY small minority. One whose members are Stevie Wonder, Napoleon Dynamite, that Chinese guy from I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry.

Nah... The 70's made some really cool cars. While I love the fox bodies (have an 87 Saleen) you can't tell me that the 79 pace car was that big of an improvement over the king cobra's.

I loves the 70s. Chevelle, firebirds, camaros, chevy trucks, even the datsuns. 70s had great cars.
