I've read and read about what to do to get oil pressure primed. And haven't gotten any oil pressure up to the top of the engine. I pulled plugs and put 8 quarts oil. Still nothing I turned it over for about 3 minutes total and not even a spike in oil pressure. I pulled engine and pulled front and rear cover to make sure the galley plugs where there. Both were good. I actually replaced the one in the rear just to make sure it wasn't broke or anything. I put 5w30 in it pretty sure that shouldn't matter. I did get oil in my filter. Just not to the top of the engine. Drivers valve cover is bone dry. Running a high flow high pressure oil pump. Not sure if my oil T at the oil pressure sensor might be the problem. Any pointers?? Any ideas.

Fresh build. Had machine shop replace all bearings. Oring is there I know that and it isn't pinched. I think imma try and build a pressure tank. Or maybe pull the valve covers and assembly lube everything. Oil pump and pick up are brand new. It's a melling high flow pump. Like I said any pointers would help

Not sure if it will work for you but I lift the rear of my car two or three feet using my two post lift. This gets the pump primed almost instantly.

One of my friends rebuilt his motor and did tsp high flow pump. He was turning it over with the starter and wouldn't built oil pressure. He even pulled it out and sent it back to them to check it. Checked out good but they said it wouldn't build oil pressure from just the starter turning it over.

my friend had the same issue. turned out his pickup tube was clogged. hook up a mechanical gauge to the sending unit and hotwire the starter if its out the car. if it reads 40 psi at the gauge then your good. it wont flow to the rockers just from turning it over. not enough rpms to make the oil flow. if it reads that much at the sending unit spot then t will flow to the rockers when the motor is running. if its in the car, put your foot on the gas all the way down and turn the key to turn over the motor. it wont start because the ecu reads full throttle on start up and cuts fuel and spark. it will pop once but wont after. just keep you foot on the gas the whole time while are cranking it over. crank it over and see if the gauge on the cluster moves to 40psi or more. it can take about 15-30 seconds so give it some time. just make sure you have enough lube or oil on everything and your good. good luck

Mine built pressure after 2-3 seconds of cranking with starter. Not much pressure but had 4-5 psi before I plugged the FP relay back in and fired up first start.
Melling high flow pump, can't remember which spring. OEM pickup, baffle, pan, factory location filter, no external cooler, etc.

Your oil system isn't factory, what else are you working with? Sumped pan? Dry sump? external cooler?

The whole bottom end is fresh build. Oring on pick up is there. And the pick up tube itself is brand new. Everything in the engine is new. I pretty sure it would be ok and since the rpms aren't there. That's why I'm not getting oil to top of engine. I pulled engine back out and checked everything. I think I might have been expecting oil to be flowing out when I was priming it. And it's perfectly fine. But I spent a lot of money building the engine so I was nervous to the no oil pressure. And I was checking with a Manuel gauge the whole time.
