Default Anyone in Houston with EFI Live?

Need to get my PCM's VIN corrected with EFI Live and shops keep trying to make me pay for a license tune when all I need is the vin changed.

I'm in northwest Houston.

Let me know

You still have to license the vehicle. That cost $125 in efi live.

The Vin can be changed in the scan tool portion of the tool under Bi-directional control.

Should not require a license. How ever any one person can charge whatever they see fit to provide the service if they so wish...

Im not in Texas But, I also Don't work for free either...

Learn something new every day. I just got EFI but haven't messed with it much. I like my HPT.

My car already has an EFI live license. Of course I'll pay for someone's time but I'd rather have it done locally.

Thanks

I guess I'm no up to snuff with EFI live but with HP tuners the license isn't attached to the vehicle but in the MPVI cable. I have to license vehicles weather or not they have been licensed by another person's HP tuners. What are you needing to change the vin on? HP can change the VIN as long as the year model OS matches.

You change the VIN with EFI Live with the scan tool, you dont even have to read the tune out, Thats why it doesnt require a license. If someone were to make a change to the actual tune (not VIN) then they would need a license to flash the pcm. You can read, save, and edit a tune in efi live without using a license.

HP's support list is much larger. I have both as well but need to get up to speed on the EFI live stuff.
