Default Registration question

My car has been down for 4-5 years. Last registration sticker is 2013. Dmv has not mailed any renewals since 2014. Anyone know how to get a new registration for 2017 and if I will owe back fees? I have the inspection done..

Have to get inspection done first, then go renew registration.

yea I got inspection taken care of. I don't have any registration renewal papers. I guess I will just go to the office and see if they still have me on file. Plus wondering if I have to pay for the past years I didn't register the car.

No back fees will be charged. You don't have to pay for highway use if you didn't use it. I just got new registration and plates for a Z28 that has been down more than a year. I didn't pay any extra fees.

I just did the same thing mine was down for 5yrs just put it back together went and got it inspected then went to the courthouse with my title they didn't give me new plates or back charge me. I also changed counties was previously Harris County now falls county. Zero issues I'd have to dig up receipts but I think it was under a $100 to get it sorted out.
