1970 Chevelle LS1 swap question

we are in the process of doing an LS1 swap with 4L60E transmission in my 1970 Chevelle, but we have a problem. the alternator is hitting the steering box. Has anyone experienced this or have any suggestions on how to fix this? thank you

Truck accessories clear pretty much anything and I believe a 2010-2015 Camaro water pump will allow the outlet of the water pump to clear a car intake.
