Exactly!!
I have owned 2nd gens, 3rd gens, and the 4th gens... I actually traded an awesome 89 IROC in on the 93 Z28 when the 4th gens came out. ( Wish I had kept the IROC) But that LT1 ( back then) was a machine... I totaled that car, insurance replaced it and I picked up a 95... Drove it forever traded it in on a 2000 Z28 and have owned numerous LS1 fbods both SS, WS6, Firehawks. Love em... and oh btw I am Corvette Z06 guy. But these Fbods have a special place for me. this NBM "should be" the last one.. I'll keep it and add to it w/o butchering it up.
I agree with the V6 cars hobbling around LOL... hilarious... I do see those!! But rarely if ever see the SS's WS6's, Firehawks rolling around through the Dallas Metroplex.
Received my SLP SS grill yesterday... and SO it begins....

Back before they killed off the F-bodies in '02, I was having a conversation with a friend and he said he couldn't believe the cars weren't selling because they were every where. Imagine in the southern states that was the case that they sold well, but probably not as much in the snowier states. In Texas they were such popular cars, I agree, you hardly ever see them anymore. Every once in a while you'll see a V6 car hobbling along clinging to the last ounces of life. But the V8 cars, hardly ever. Most I do see are usually not in much better shape than aforementioned V6 cars, pretty trashed and high mile at this point. So is the case seeing as it's been 16 years since the last ones were made. Most got used up as daily drivers, wrecked, trashed, parted out, etc.

Some one cared about that car for 165K miles! But I doubt you have bought it if they didn't. My F150 has a 100k+ on it, bought new but I always try and keep that truck up, washed/waxed fairly regularly, keep the interior clean, shampoo the carpets, maintain the seats. I've seen people get a car and within 10-20K miles its completely trashed but they also don't care.
There's a lot of nice F-bodies in the midwest, cars tucked away through the years and driven only in the summers. My GTA was one, 48K mile car, only driven in the summers, never seen rain, etc. But it's tough to find them.

I don't see many SLP 4th Gen SS's around either. I purchased mine with 13,200 from a car dealer who traded it in for a new corvette. The car had served me well but the motor gave way just after 150,000. It took many years, a bunch of money and whole lot of patience but I finally purchased all the parts, built my own motor and installed all the mods. I can tell you it wasn't easy but in the end very rewarding..
