Houston Area LS3 Build Recommendations
I am seeking recommendations for reputable and respected custom-build LS3 shops in the Houston area. After some searching here, I have seen both HPC & LMR mentioned as top-shelf options. I have spoken with Elie at HPE and inquired with LMR but received no response to date. I'd like to know if there are any others I have overlooked. Thanks!

I was unfamiliar with Late Model Engines (LME) until mentioned here. I was referring to Late Model Racecraft (LMR) but they are either no longer active or cannot be bothered to reply to inquiries. I will look into LME & HPR...thanks.

Late Model Racecraft is the performance shop. They install and work on the cars, including heads, cam, forced induction, transmission, tuning, etc.
Ryan at Late Model Engine is a dedicated engine builder and rebuilder.
They are both some of the best in the business and in fact, LMR uses LME as their go-to builder when a customer wants a whole new engine and LMR will typically provide specs.
If you are doing your own install, you can order direct from LME. You will still need someone like LMR or PatG to tune it.
Steven at LMR is a good guy and he is in the enviable position of having more work than he can handle and doesn't want to expand. His sales people are slow unless you call on the phone.
If you have the budget, both are awesome and worth the money.

Thank you for the information, jmilz28. I will see if I have any better luck calling LMR.
I appreciate that Elie @ HPC has taken time to discuss in detail over the phone on several occasions; however, I would like to explore at least another option or two. Regardless of the choice, it's not like they're going to be 'just down the road'.

Never really got a good vibe when talking to Ellie... He charges high $$$$ for his stuff and I know he worked on a Corvette where he spec'd a custom cam "El Diablo" and that car was pretty nasty. My brother is a good friend of the owner of that car and it was whoopng everybodys azz.. I think Greg Good works on cylinder heads for him but personally I'd contact Bryan @ LME and have them build your engine. If you haven't went to his shop and taken the tour I encourage you to go check it out. Another place that does good work but dose not have all the CNC equipment is Nickens Brothers Racing Engines up in Conroe. Wayne and David are very reputable engine builders and super nice people.
