Default Texas F-body shootout

Well i have been exchanging PM's with Todd, or TWS here on ls1tech..

He is a large contributor with the Austin F-body club and board in Austin Texas.

We have been talking about getting together a little competition of cities, and have a nice get together / Drag racing for a whole day!

Hopefully we can get at least 10 cars from houston and 10 from austin to committ to coming to this. There is going to be no winnings, just some good competition. You can do bets and what not, but keep it all to some fun **** talking

The track will be at SAR (San Antonio Raceway) Todd can get prices on the track usage or per person... so he will buzz in later

We can get ourselves one whole portion of the parking lot to park in, meet up and talk, call out who is there, or who you know from ls1tech, and then get the races going.

Everyone, please give us your Comments and suggestions. This would be great and a lot of fun. Somtime in September or October is the date plot out for the race. Lets try to get this going and have some fun. Maybe this could grow into something more. You san antonio guys can come as well!

SAR will want $1000 down, and about $20 per car, and about $10 per spectator. I've rented it twice. You will need around 75-100 cars to get those rates (Sunday rental).

I sent an email to the 1/8-mile track (Houston Motorsports Park) about possibly renting it so we could all have some fun grudge matches and such. I know its only a half-track, but its still fun to race eachother.

Probably won't hear back from them until next week.

well i dont think we are going to rent it out completely, but go when it is not being used completely... TWS knows more about it.. i am just trying to round up some contestants for Grudge matches and it seems there are quite a few people interested!

but i just want to see what fellow members would like. A tri city shoot-out like SA, H-town, Austin, and maybe even some dallas/arlington people would be fun to have go!

Hey tony if you dont mind, keep me posted about the HMP info as well!

We've got a pretty decent intrest in Austin as well, but not alot of the guys post on here, or atleast in the texas section very often. I'll see what I can do to communicate between them and here

I think its a cool idea, could be called the Texas F-body shoot out. Heads up, no limits, classes or indexs, just run what you brung exactly like a Cloberthon. Each city could bring their fastest cars and hope they brought enough.

exactly, and we can converse in the parking lot, converse with the other people, make some challenges and wagers if they want, and RUN!!!

but i will keep everything up with this. We need some more austin and SA and even dallas guys to post in here!

As long as we leave it open to all F-cars, then we should get a good turn out. No need to keep this some sort 4th gen only race.
