This is why I wish I still had my 98 SS Coupe....I just couldn't stand the the colors of the car, inside or out. It was just much better/funner than the car I traded in for it tho

To set the record straight...
10.00 to 11.49 - A rollcage is mandatory on all convertibles and t-tops running 10.99 or quicker 1/4 or 6.99 or quicker 1/8 mile/
11.50 to 13.49 section - A minimum of a 6-point roll bar is mandatory all convertibles running 11:00 to 13.49 1/4 mile and 8.25 or quicker 1/8 miles. A roll cage is mandatory on any entry that exceeds 135 MPH
9.99 - 11.49 you can use a 6-point cage
That is for running in these speed or time classes. Straight off the updated 2005 IHRA Rules Book.

People tend to interchange 10 point with rollcage. You can build a 10-point rollcage or you can build one with less points connecting it to the chassis. The definition of rollcage is a full overhead halo and front downbars at the a-pillars.
So no matter how you split the hair, a t-top car will need a full rollcage to be legal.
Now we just need a tubing bender...

I've been in contact with Michael Baker of IHRA. It appears the T-top is being reversed to what it was in 04. T-tops will be considered hardtops
This INCLUDES 10.00 to 10.99 cars
This INCLUDES 10.00 to 10.99 cars
