Talking Pulled over doing twice the speed limit

Got pulled over doing 37 in a 20. Thought for sure I was getting a ticket, running 3000rpm w/ open cutout and subs blarring. Cop asked why he pulled me over. I said I dunno. He said 37 in 20. I said oh **** and that I thought it was a 30mph zone. BS'ed a bit. He checked my record and gave me a warning. I couldn't of been happier. He must of felt sorry since he saw I was on my way to study for finals. Gotta love College Station cops and their leinency(sp?) towards non drunks.

i thought you were going to say like 140 in a 70

there is a 20mph street that goes to one of our local hangouts. its like a riverfront parkinglot. cops hang out and bust people all day long for doing 30 in that 20. there is also a boat launch down there so the road is always slick when people leave with their boats draining. if your tires spin over even like 1/4 of a turn in it they will haggle you as well. we need more crime so they will have somthing else to do.

That's what I like about Beaumont, it seems to have the perfect balance Particularly in comparison to where I used to live; the cops got waay too bored there

I don't miss those College Station cops...never met one that wasn't on a power trip.

The motorcycle cops there must have gone to weasel school.

They never got me though Thank you ValentineOne

So far I have been lucky and there is always someone pulled over when I drive by the cops. My sister got a ticket for a 33 in a 30 last year... The 2 motorcycle cops are the absolute worst!
Great job getting out of the ticket!

Yeah I figured w/ that title that ya'll would think of some insane speed. My Escort Passport 8500 has done a hell of a job w/ no speeding tickets in the last 3 years. Knock on wood. Too bad it has very little side radar detection. It was beeping a bit before I hit the 90* turn, but that is usual around campus it seems. Right when it went full up around the turn I knew I was screwed.

Also, what are ya'lls worst speeding tickets? Mine was 100 in a 65 on I-45 N by 1960 right after I turned 16. Was topping off the chevelle at 120 and saw the state trooper. Locked up the brakes, 4 wheel drums, scary thing when doing 120. Pulled me over, asked if I knew I was going 100, I said nah it was only 94, speedo must be off. Then I started to smirk when I realized I must of been doing 126 instead of 120. Good times. Payed the ticket and no insurance rate hikes. Still curious about that one.

Thats odd, my Passport 8500 X50 has done amazing things for me including side radar detection thru cement walls. Must be how you have it tuned, or where its placed, but since I've gotten my X50 the only way I get busted is with Laser, and I've been researchin like a **** for some laser scramlbers that are worth a damn!!

My worst ticket was a 95 in a 60, got popped by a Texas State Trooper. They were a bunch of dicks, even tho I had on record a guy chasing me for over 50 miles since south of Waco(got pulled over a little north of Hillsboro) they still wouldn't let me off. Paid it and never hit the insurance tho. All is well

Even I have to agree with the State Trooper crack..They written my wife twice within six month peroid. The last time was when she was 9 months pregnant and on her way to doctors appt she was running late to, and it was only 12 mph over on the hwy. They are ruthless!
Cyphur, I used to work with those Hill County Stateys, seems to me they were some of the worst. Their doing the job of course, but DAMN! They work I-35 like a beast.

I can appreciate doin their job, but damn. I used to make that trip anywhere from 1-3x a month(Ft Hood to DFW), and I got to know their spots pretty well, only got popped 2 or 3 times over 3 years. The troopers were the nice guys usually, its those small town cops that had the power trip going

Most cops I'm fine with, its ones that have a chip on their shoulder cuz I'm a 21 yo male driving a sports car. I've served my country too, and will do so again. I don't need to be treated like some punk *** kid, they want to do that they can roll up on some high school. Take that bullshit elsewhere. Thats my only problem with cops, is when they disrespect me in an unwarranted fashion.

Looked at the K40 DefuserPlus yet? They say "If you receive a laser ticket while your DefuserPlus system is operating, K40 will pay the cost of your fine - no questions asked." Hides in a license-plate frame with just an LED indicator mounted in the dash, and audible alert. (Don't have any systems myself, but I happened to have a brochure on this'n...)

Small town cops along 35 are a dime a dozen. I used to be one of them when I was 21 in Hillsboro. My honey hole then was the 364 marker northbound. When I was working there the speed limit was 55 mph (construction), I used to get them all day at 85-90 mph. One of the other guys got a Jetta doin 145 in the 55, outrageous! All rooks are cocky, now Im trying to find something totally different to do.
