Coming back to TX... emissions help I just moved to the midwest from Houston/DFW TX to go to college, and now i cant stand this f**king cold *** weather, So now ive desided to go back to TX and before i left i didnt mod my car so i didnt have worry about passing emissions, Iowa doesnt have Emissions, So now that im heading back to TX in the spring Im kinda worried about it, Will some stage 2 heads, cam 228/228 112 cam and GMMG pass?? im thinking of LTH Y pipe, but i dont seem to think those will pass, a little help, thanks

The Texas Vehicle Emissions Testing Program, also known as AirCheckTexas, applies to vehicle owners in Dallas, Tarrant, Harris, El Paso, Collin, Denton, Galveston, Brazoria, Fort Bend, Montgomery, Ellis, Johnson, Kaufman, Parker, and Rockwall counties, is integrated with the annual safety inspection program and operated by the Texas Department of Public Safety(DPS). Vehicles are tested annually either at a decentralized test-and-repair facility or at a test-only facility. Gasoline-powered vehicles from two through 24 years old are tested beginning with the vehicle's second model year anniversary.

Dude, if your car is later than a 1996 Model they just plug directly into the computer. So, basically, if you get LS1 edit or O2 sims so that you don't throw codes for the no cats, then you will pass with flying colors. However, if they peer under there and see no cats, they may fail you. In Houston, they only put it on the emissions dyno with the sniffer if its 1995 or older.

Also just because your service engine soon light isnt on you can still fail... Also if you cant get it to pass and your a 96 and newer car you can opt do to the dyno/sniffer test...

thanks Thank you guys for all your help. I have a friend whos got a 70 Torino and he goes to some guy in wylie and just gives him beer and he passes him. If i end up failing, ill probably go to this guy.
