A forged, bored, stroked, low-compression motor and Twin Turbo was my dream setup for that car. Who knows. With the right amount of schmoozing, I may yet have that twin turbo some day. We'll see. Meantime, it sounds as though Mike is taking good care of you. Maybe I'll drop a bolt in the Vette so I have an excuse to upgrade. "I don't know why it shakes, dear. Must be a loose spark plug wire."

Brad, just call him "big poppa".....
Boos2, Brad hasn't had a chance to enjoy the car yet. Since he's owned it, its been broken longer than drivable.
Vince, I missed y'all on the Corvette cruise this past weekend.

And, Brad, sorry I didn't get much chance to talk to you the other day. I was at Chipotle ordering a barbacoa burrito (love those!). But, to answer your question in more detail, yes, the longtube headers scraped on speedbumps and on steep driveways. They hung slightly lower than the front crossmember. The 3" Y-pipe scraped the worst, though. When I went to the 3" true dual, they tucked up in the axle housing nicely and didn't scrape near as much. You could probably get by with 2 1/2" pipe on the Y-pipe, though, to get better clearence. I was designing the system with twin turbo or some form of forced induction in mind. Mid-length headers would do nicely for what you plan to do. Anything is better than the stock '99 manifolds.
