I was trying to wait and get a deal on an iPod, but I couldnt wait. I bought one from Best Buy at about 7:30p tonight. Its now 3:45am and I just got done playing with it.

This is the coolest toy ever and in a way its a mod for my car. Y'all go get one. I promise you will love it!

Yup, Hard-drive MP3 players are badass.

How are you gonna wire it up to your car?

20g. $260.00 at Best Buy as an "open item". It holds like 5,000 songs. Only problem was they only come in White. You can get the iPod mini in other colors but for the $50.00 you save you only get 4g.

Wireless FM modulator. Hooks up to the iPod then I tune the radio to a FM channel and it plays through the radio. I can use it in any car. I can do the same thing with a system at the house.

Im tellin' y'all it is the coolest thing.

I have had my (U2 Red and Black) iPod since X-mas, the best toy I've had in a long time. I have 625 songs on my iPod 16.7GB to spair I also have the iTrip-FM transmitter, there are plenty sites I found were you never have to spend a dime again for full CD's or Singles

They now have the Ipod shuffle with 512mb for 99.99.
That should hold a few hundred songs.
I just can't see listening to over 5,000 songs

I personally have no use for an iPOD. I have a lot of MP3s on my computer. I listen to them when I'm using my computer.
I'm getting pretty sick of all of my CDs, so I'll probably end up getting RCA's 12-disc CD Changer (for my truck) w/ mp3 playback capability. $175 12 CDs w/ 180-200 songs each will be plenty for me.
2 CDs of classic rock
2 CDs of 80's
2 CDs of 90's
1 or 2 CDs of Rap
1 CD of Country
1 CD of Beatles
etc.

The Ipod was designed for the reason you listed, you can have every CD you own + more... in the palm of your hand at all times, at home, at work, in the car, Etc... with out worrying of scarched CD's, switching disc's

I only listen to music when sitting at home (through the computer, or through my home stereo), or in my car. I don't listen to head-phones. I can't hear out of my left ear, so head-phones sound like garbage to me, due to the left/right sound separation.
Having 2500 of my favorite songs in one disc Changer will be plenty for me. I doubt I'd be changing discs much, if at all.

Ross87t, the adapters range from 29.99 to 100.00. You can get them anywhere from Wal-mart to Best Buy. I already have a 12 disc changer in my car and an in-dash Cd player, yet I still find myself carrying around a CD case. I own over 200+ CD's and intend on putting each one in my iPod. Then I will never have to worry about them getting scratched or stolen. I also found out last night that if you have a CD thats scratched and doesn't seem to play in a CD player, it will copy without the noise into your iPod.

You can also burn CD's from your iPod through your computer.

Boobka, thank you so much for the link. I hate mine being white. I went to about 6 stores last night trying to find a different color case or something to make it different.

Jeremy, the shuffle comes in 512 and 1g. The 512 for $99.00 holds 120 songs. For the extra $$$ I will have storage for every CD I own with plenty of room for downloading new music.

Cool. Is your disc changer an MP3 player? I'm not downing the iPod. I think they are pretty cool little gadgets. Like I said above though, I can't hear out of my left ear, so head-phones sound like complete *** to me. Have you ever tried listending to a rock song w/ out the vocals and bass guitar. Or, w/ only being able to hear the vocals and drums? LOL! That's what happens to me when I use head-phones.

No my changer is just a 12 disk not an Mp3 player, its mounted in my trunk. It came from the factory. I know what your saying. My one headphone kept falling out last night. It sounds really weird with only hearing 1/2 of the music.
