Im a tech at a Chevy dealership. Work in the R.V. repair center. I do state inspections, PDI new cars (pull plastic off them when they arive), work on travel trailers, motor homes. As long as it pays ill do it. Yet it dosent pay for ****.

For the young guys that are wanting to work on cars, Do either brakes or tune ups. There is always work in those to areas. All other areas suck **** and never steady or good pay. If only I could get out of it

Im a U.S. Marine, Military Policeman (k-9 unit) stationed at Marine Corps Air Station New River, North Carolina.

The town, (jacksonville) is about as big as Tomball, TX but less to do.
Not sure but about 50,000 Marines that live here and only about 120,000 people in this town. Numbers could be wrong but guy to girl ratio is NOT GOOD!

I work anywhere from 5-7 days a week from 12-18 hours a day. I'v worked many 120 hr weeks. But normal week is about 70 hours NO OVERTIME! Comes out to average $4.00 an hour. Allot worse if your in a Combat Zone (Iraq, Afgahn) but pay goes up also with combat pay seps.. etc. (our prayers are with them). need a job? we are hiring!

Besides all that I'm a Marine and love my job (i signed the dotted line) could be worse, but hey it pays for the Hawk, not much more $$ for mods but thankful I at least have one.

My boss feels that 7am - 6pm is a normal day. Last year I worked something like 2800 hours, which is an AVERAGE of around 55 hours per week, but in June I worked like 26 days straight, and in Dec I worked like 28 days straight (Dec was 12 hour days).

No - Autocad, but someday we're supposed to start learning Pro-E - we've had it since I started (almost 2 years) but I guess we're waiting for the "right" time to start using it.

Based on that and your hours I think I know where you work - I talked to a guy about a job there, but not sure I want to do contract work - I like my health insurance and vacation.

Maybe we need to start a CAD thread in the Texas section and we can all find better jobs!!

I work at a water ski summer camp year round... Offseason I do advertising and maintenance stuff and on the nice days, i get to take the boats for a cruise and if my boss isn't too busy, we pull each other skiing. Yea I know, its a tough life. Summer time, we have week long camps and teach skiing/ wakeboarding, sailing, etc etc.... Also a full time student at UT Dallas, graduating in May, then starting law school in the fall. If any of you have any kids you want to send away for a week of the summer, PM me and i'll hook ya up.

I am the tuner for Racing Solutions. I tune using AEM, Split Second, LS1Edit, Fast, Big Stuff and Unichip. Mostly Vipers but once in a while we get a corvette or F-body. We are really busy so Vipers is all we have time to do right now other than the twin turbo mustang we are building.
