Default Anyone having problems with their mouse?

Just yesterday my mouse has been acting up. It either has a delay or it just stops moving completely. I was using my cousin's computer for a couple of weeks and it too started acting up. Then a friend of mine said the same thing too. Just wondering if its just a coencidence, or if there is something going around that is screwing them up. Maybe its just going bad...can a mouse really go bad?

your mouse probably has dirt/lint inside where the ball tracks on. Open it up and clean it.

my dad got the screw driver out and started taking the whole mouse apart one time. i was like dad all you have to do is take the ball out and clean the rollers.

woulda been real funny but i had to put it back together that is the difference between the generations of Mechanical Engineers.

Well I would have to turn the computer off so that it would start working again and sometimes a message would pop up when it boots up that it detected that there is no mouse. So I would have to keep rebooting it until it shows that it does. It would work for a short time with no problem, then just stop moving again. This has never happend before, it just started yesterday.

I wasnt sure if there was some kind of virus going around that affected the mouse, but I have a virus program that shows no sign of a virus. The mouse I was using that has problems now wasnt old. It was a newer style, the one with the scroll button on top. I put the old school one back on and I havent had any problems. The connection on the back was good with the one that was messing up. It couldnt be that its dirty because sometimes I have to reboot the computer and it doesnt detect a mouse. The only thing that this old school mouse has been doing every so often is go whacky. Like I would move it in one direct, it would budge, then go another direction and then follow where Im going. Can a mouse go bad? Seems like it unless there's something else going on with my computer, but how can it go bad?
