they died quickly/instantly, and most likely painlessly. As opposed to the same animals being eaten slowly by lions while alive.

That's real hunting. Sure beats the hell out of sitting in a dear blind just waiting for them to show. I would love to go on safari... I shot a wild bore coming at me once at my parents house with a 50 desert eagle after it had killed 3 dogs. Dropped him in one shot.

That is some crazy ****! I am a avid hunter and going on a trip like that would be wild, that gun was freekin huge!! I wouldnt want to kill any hippos but mabye some large plains animals.

I hunt but I am also a conservationist. I feel that these animals should not be killed unless you are going to be eating them or they need to be culled to protect the population.

Even though it wasn't legal. Back in 1998, at the Naval Academy, I ran across a magazine where a Merc hunted poachers. He also took people out on poacher hunts. Since you could sign up and hunt people who illegally killed animals, this was cool. A couple of Marines were all pumped up about the article.
