Default Can you take a new car back?

I have a friend that wants to know this. The situation is his wife bought a car w/o even consulting him (not the blissful marriage he wanted...long dishearting story), and is now wanting him to cosign to get a better intrest rate. The papers were signed on the 10th at night. Don't they have like 5 days? BTW, the difference with him cosigning is 15% to the better. The problem is she feels like she did nothing wrong, she just showed up at thier home with the car. Oh yea....she doesn't work either.

Typically ya, but it depends on the dealership. Have him read the contract she signed it's usually in there if at all.

Some dealerships can be total dicks, and say no, you signed the paperwork, its your car, and they can continue to tell you they will buy it back from you, but not for the price you paid but for the wholesale price, b/c of depriciation.

Just check the contracts & see if there is a buyers remorse clause. Or just have him call up there & act like he's a new customer & ask them if they have one. That or just give a fake name or something.

Well I use to work for a dealership.

First off she from the sounds of it is special finance, and they have not actually gotten her approved, so what or who is the financial institution that the loan is thru, I bet the loan wont' go thur with just her name on the paper work. That is why they will need him to cosign. Call the financial institution and tell them that she has no job, but the dealership said they could get her approved anyways. She is only bailed in the car now, if there is no financeing then there is no deal, happens all the time.

I would take the car back. I have had people bring cars back to me before, some were okay and some were not. It is up to the dealership, to take the car back, but if you want to get nasty with them, then get an attorney, and you right there is a Buyers remorse in texas, it is 72hrs I believe. So better tell him to make it quick.

i'd bitchslap her and file for divorce due to whatever the clause is that your wife is a dumb hoe that shouldn't be allowed to walk the streets freely. after i beat her that is.

Those are some harsh things to say about a guy's wife. Granted she did something pretty damn stupid.

There relationship is not my concern. I stay out of it. I did pass the car info on to him though. Seem the dealership has a policy against running peoples credit that are not present. Hmmm....but my buddy's was run. He is going to talk to the General Manager Monday if he didn't get by today. Yea! this won't have a happy ending.
