Default Kerrville Rocks!

I'm a member of the Sam Houston Corvette Club and we went on our annual cruise to Kerrville this weekend. Most of us left Friday morning (about 30 cars) and the rest drove up Saturday morning (about 10 more cars). We stayed at the Inn on the Hill, really nice hotel and we went for 2 cruises Saturday. A shorter one in the morning and a long one at around 2pm. The roads there are awesome! Almost like mountain roads with a ton of tight turns and elevation changes. One minute your driving up through turns and the next driving down hill thru turns. It was a blast! My wife said her stomach was hurting...LOL! Some of us were flying! I got to drive my car like it was intended to be driven, although the wife got scared a few times.
If you get the chance to go to Kerrville, don't pass it up. The roads out there are amazing!
Maybe we should schedule a weekend for LS1tech and go Saturday morning and do some cruises, spend the night and come home Sunday. We could even do a cruise Sunday morning. Anyone up for it? I have all of the cool routes mapped out!

We went on quite a few, I remember 35 or 37 out to Leakey, and we went through Bandera, etc. Too many numbers to remember...LOL! I have the maps now.

I'll agree with it being a great place for driving/riding. Heading out past the mall about 7 minutes the road drops out from under you just about at Turtle Creek, used to hunt at the ranch to the left at that creek. Always heard about mishaps with people driving or riding right there though.

We had no mishaps in our club. I'm glad I put on my Eradispeed rotors last week before the cruise. I really didn't have to brake that much though, my car can carry the corner speeds at 3 times the posted limit or more without any concern.

HWY 55 between Camp Wood and Rocksprings is bad ***. 100 mph corners of smooth asphalt. . I go there every couple months with my bike.

Actually I am going there next weekend.

You don't have to go all the way to Kerrville though. Good roads start on the West side of San Antonio Look up on the map and visit roads like hwy 16, 335, 336, 337, 470, 187, 55, go to Hunt to check out the Texas Stonehenge. If anyone wants I have MS Street and Trips route planned.

There is LEOs out there. I can point you where to watch out.

Also when you are there, always stay in your lane and watch out for bikes.

Between Rocksprings and Junction is a blast if you like alot of cornering. There is some roads between Ingram and Mountain Home that are real hilly and curvey.

I've stayed at that Hotel before.

Here are couple pics of the scenery from HWY 55 and stonehenge.

Roads are smooth and fast.

I just went to the Hill Country this weekend. I saw bunch of Corvettes stopped in Laeky. I had a blast tearing up the roads in the Z. I know it wasn't a bike, but still had fun. We need to make a cruise there from Houston one day. Anyone up for that?
