Road trip to Seattle from Houston
B-rad2 (Brad) and I took a road trip to Seattle, Wa. starting Monday the 14th. The road trip plan was Houston to El Paso to Tucson to San Diego to Portland to Seattle.
The trip all the way to Portland was Sunny with no clouds and 70 degrees. T-tops off most of the way! We had a very nice time cruising at 80-100 and straightening some corners through the mountains as we drove. We saw some very nice scenery all the way minus the flat part of Texas. We did hang out in San Diego for a day and I got to see the Miramar base where the top gun pilots are trained and see them flying around right above us. We also dropped down to PCH 1 to run the coast a bit from Laguna beach to Newport beach and to Huntington beach where we stayed the night. Ok that is about all of the good blah blah blah.
Now, for the S*** that just went bad for Brad (mainly) and I had to deal with.
GOOD - Brad picks up car Friday being fixed from G-Force (Motor ran great guys the whole way there)
BAD - Saturday night a guy backs into the passenger headlight, bumper and hood.

BAD - Wednesday we go to leave San Diego and we have a blowout.

After waiting 3 hours for wrecker here

we find out at Discount Tire that all 4 tires are dry rotted and when they went to change the other front tire to replace a rear tire with a sidewall scuff the tire peeled apart on them just trying to get the tire on the rim. We actually could pull the tire apart.
BAD - Friday we get pulled over by Washington State Trooper and Brad gets a ticket for 90 in a 70. Cop said that people called in and said that we were doing over 100 and weaving in and out of traffic. We were changing lanes with blinkers slowly and doing 90. The cop said the camped out on a overpass waiting for us to drive by so he could pull us over.

BAD - I flew back on a buddy pass and got bumped from the 5:40pm flight to the 12:40am flight which put me in
Houston at 7am.
BAD - Brad picks me up at the airport while I am waiting 6 hours for the next one and we get head back to base. While driving we hear something like a chain or something metal under the car like we ran over so Brad pulls over and he inspects the car and it looks ok. We get a block or two from the base to get food and something starts dragging the ground. As Brad looked under the car he sees that the Pan hard Bar on the left side in hanging on the ground and the bushing are out in the road. The noise we heard on the freeway was the bolt and washers that came off of it! So it was tie strapped up and the car is back on base and I took a cab back to the airport and that was PRICEY!
Brad has more Pictures on his camera he needs to add to his web shots but here are some I took of the car on the trip.

What is funny is that I picked up a Hawk with friend David and drove it from Kansas City to Houston then a bit later drove
it from Houston to Charlotte, NC. with not one issue.

SALE THE CAR, TRADE IT IN OR SOMETHING, YOUR fixing to have if not already have more money than it is worth. I would go and trade it in on a truck, it snows there and I can tell you that your car will be worthless up there. Just my opinion

Are these his tires, by the way there are some reviews on these tires also.
I am willing to bet the tires he has sat up for a long long time, as any tire will tire rot if it sits around for to long. I would bet these are the tires that vince had on the car for the past 3yrs or longer, would be my guess, and they have been drivin on, but have been sitting up for a while, and not driven on, would be my guess
Here are the tires and reviews http://www.1010tires.com/tire.asp?ti...l=GRB+FK%2D451

Geez, that is a lot of problems!
All bad, but I think this is the most aggravating if only on principle...

Road trip anyone?
Hey Brad, its Dave. Nice to hear at least yall both made it there and Angus made it back safely. Hey Angus..... I'm gonna need another favor. They are saying im going to Iraq in august for 6-9 months, so i was wondering if you could fly up here and we make that good ole trip back home! And i would like to keep the car garaged ( dont know where, maybe home )the whole time. You and Big jerm can take it out every once in a while. Let me know. It would probably be a July time frame.
Lets see 4th of July, my b-day is the 25th. It will be somewhere around there.
thanks
-dave
