Knock Sensors Bad??/

) Do you wash you motor any? Chances are you got some water down in your knock sensor valley and it just corroded it up. And yes, if you have a faulty knock sensor it will automatically pull 4 degrees of timing till the problem is fixed. If it's #1 it's in the front, if it's #2 it's rear one! Easy fix, but a stupid one...
Also, while you're at it, a good way to prevent this from happening again, is to RTV around the knock sensor caps. And also take off the foam pieces under the intake, those keep moistue in if it ever gets there!

I don't think even missing sensors will cause your engine to quit running, but I haven't tried that.
