I was on my way home from work (driving my stock 99 SS) and turned onto BW8 to find myself next to a fully customized late model Cobra. It was a mineral gray coupe, with ground effects, Cobra R wheels, R spoiler, and a flame paint job on the sides. Had some A-pillar gauges, and I could hear the blower. Went from a 3rd gear roll first, and my stock LS1 stayed next to him until I had to slam on the brakes due to a slow truck in my lane.

Further ahead, we had an open stretch, went from a 60 mph roll, and the Cobra walked away pretty badly. Sounded pretty cool though!

I probably don't have to remind most of you, but stock LS1 f-bodies are no match for modified supercharged Cobras

Anyone know who the Mustang owner was? Tell him I want a rematch in my supercharged Camaro

Heck, with a lid, FRA, ported TB, LS6 intake, longtubes and a cutout I bet you'd be right there with him, if not pull him.

Funny, how getting drug serves as motivation isn't it? Lol.

Speaking from personal experience, I've done some crazy stuff after getting beat to make sure it didn't happen again.

If it was a boosted 99/01 with supporting mods it is gonna take more than headers and intake mods for a LS1 to hang, nice run though, I am sure it would have been different in one of your other cars.

Couldn't tell what year it was, it had aftermarket ground effects on it. I only saw the cobra emblems on the fenders. I'm not too worried about him walking my stock LS1. I sure hope a modified Cobra could do that! Someone out there has to know whose car that was, it definitely stood out.

ummm, not quite. Powell's Cobra got OWNED by my Formula back then. We even had to push his car off of the feeder road into the mall parking lot after the abuse it received
