anyone else get arrested today? I got arrested for drag racing today here in corpus christi, i didnt know that it was a class b misdemeaner... anyhow i was racing a 2003 Z06 with dumped exhaust, F13 cam and something else. from a 30 mph roll i had him all the way to 120, then we started to slow down and since he was in the left lane (oncoming traffic lane) i slowed down and let him in front of me. the sherrif nabbed the guy in back (me) and i spent 12 hours in county jail 
...all the sherrif could do was tell all the other cops at county about us racing and about how fast we were going and that i had beat a vette....yada yada yada. anyhow the arresting officer was about as cool as you could get given the circumstances. so $500 later for bail and $200 for impound fees i am back on the road awaiting a may 20 court date......geez i knew i should have went to san antonio raceway this weekend.....lol

my friend got arrested, I remember I got a phone call from the jail. He got on probation, and had to do some community service stuff. I think the better lawyer you get the better off you are.
didnt know 2nd offense is 1 year! my friend still races occasionally, Ill have to tell him about that.

....BUt damn dude that really sux, get a good lawyer and you'll be better off....

I agree with the racing. If your going to do it, be aware of your environment, use a radar detector, and never race in a two way street. Good luck with the court action. Keep us informed on the verdict. 
I got busted for racing back in 2000 before they toughened the laws here in Texas. I was racing a stang, and I got a ticket for exhibition of speed. It was a pretty hefty ticket, but I didn't get arrested. Nowdays in Texas it's a mandatory arrest if you get caught street racing. Be careful out there.

yeah i know....i didnt even plan on racing that night either, just was going to go hang out and check out some cars. then the vette that laid a spank on me when i was stock showed up...called me out...and the rest is history. i have a feeling that if the officer that arrested me hadnt of called it in to dispatch, he would have let me go. he was telling me about how he used to drag race when he was younger and stuff... damn radios lol. i can probably count on one hand how many times i have street raced, i know how unsafe it is, but when you get called out i mean what would you do? i usually go to SAR when i get the itch, looks like i should have this weekend. oh well live and learn, besides the road we were on was a 2 lane road yes but for about 4 miles the only thing there is is a bunch of field and one house, and it is unfrequented by mainstay traffic.
